Thread on eBay Partner Program?

Good morning Warriors,

A week or two ago, someone was trying to figure out why they had been declined by eBay's Partner Program. I can't find that thread now, but I need some information on eBay's reasons for declining, too.

If anyone knows the url for that thread, will you please post it here?

A few of my customers who purchased a turnkey ebay store have been declined, and I'd like to point them to the thread to find possible reasons.

Better yet, if anyone knows a phone number to reach the eBay Partner Program, that would be great.

    Here's what Ebay say about rejecting applications:

    1.4 Why is my application not being accepted?
    eBay Partner Network (and each eBay Advertiser) uses different sets of rules to accept affiliates. In some cases, these rules may differ from Commission Junction. This means that we may not be accepting publishers previously accepted - and in other cases, we are now accepting publishers who were not previously accepted. If you were recently rejected and previously belonged to the eBay affiliate program with CJ, please contact us and provide your PID information so we can further investigate. The eBay Partner Network team and Advertisers are constantly evaluating the rules, and appreciate your feedback.

    Pretty ambigious huh?

    They include a contact form for email communication but I can't find a phone number.

    Thanks for your reply, Iain, but I don't think that was the thread I saw.

    Their 'canned' response doesn't tell you much, that's for sure. But someone said (a couple months ago, and I don't remember where I saw it) that you can call them and frequently get them to change their minds. I thought it was worth a shot, but we can't find a phone number either.

      I did find this as well on the Ebay forums which may help:

      Here's a quote from Will at eBay:

      "If you are interested in applying, there are a few tips you should keep in mind. Please make sure you fill out the description as completely as possible, and make sure it is descriptive. Fill out the URLs that you plan to send us traffic from and make sure they are valid website addresses that will yield interested buyers. As an extreme example, an affiliate that helps potential buyers find and research sporting goods and then points them to great deals on eBay is going to get higher consideration than an affiliate that wants to put our banners on a ringtone site with limited targeted content and limited relevance to eBay. If your URLs aren't ready or you don't know the URLs, you may want to wait until your websites are ready or you have more information before re-applying."
