search functionality not working correctly?

Not sure where the correct place to post this is (I suppose its more for the mods? So I guess if you want to delete it when you get it, that's ok)...
I'm trying to do some searches based on post count greater than x, as well as posts say within the last month, etc -- but it seems if there are more than '20' pages worth of posts on a specific topic, it 'truncates' the search.
a) I.e., if I do an advanced search say for "cpa"
b) Then I say 'cpa' must be in the title
c) Then I say I want posts within the last year
d) And I say want posts with 20 replies.
It returns no results.
If I leave the date blank, then it returns items with say '0' replies (so the replies field seems to have no effect), plus it will be returning posts say from 2008 when I want something recent.
Any ideas?
