There's plenty other directories out there besides ezine--why not try submityourarticle.com and submit to 30 directories at once. You can even use the same articles you already submitted to ezine....

        And yeah, outsource.

(You could do Adwords at the same time and up the game a little too--just test first)

Why don't you get written as much as possible and then "archive" the website. Spend the time after you get as much info as possible to backlink it and advertise it. Then you can get it in the rankings and just have it as a static information site so to speak.

Yes, outsource the article or flip some others. There are plenty of PLR articles around these days so you could take some of the information in those to create new articles.

Try not to rely exclusively on articles to bring you traffic & sales. They are only one source of bringing visitors.

One of the best ways is to utilise the time in writing articles is to write a step-by-step guide on how to get the best out of your DSLR camera.

Then offer the guide on your website for sale (or choose a different domain entirely and cross-link to this one)
Offer an affiliate program and most of your customers would be happy to refer their friends to your guide.

There are PLR products on a wide range of topics which you can use as a base to improve and rewrite as your own work.

Search the WF for more ideas on how to bring more visitors.

An affiliate program for your guide would be high on that list.
Newsletter/Ezine is one of the best ways to get results for repeat visitors.

Listing your website for WF members to critique could bring in some improvements.

WF members can give constructive criticism of your website for your benefit.

Dude. Plain and simple. You have to outsource.

YOUR JOB is not to write for traffic. You've got a proven earner.

YOUR JOB is to think bigger, find other ways to promote, and make more.

Get those articles outsourced. Plus, get articles outsourced on a very, very related subject. Send them to a highly related site. Capture emails. List build. Cross promote.

    Aside from that...

    This is your REAL focus:

BUILDING MORE STUFF AND USING OTHER TRAFFIC GENERATION METHODS

YOU are the brains behind the business, NOT the minimum wage button-pusher.

The only way to expand is to remove yourself from turning the wheels. Get someone else to do it. And build more wheels. And more efficient wheels they'll be, as you do more, learn and improve.

P.S. EZA won't refuse articles on the same subject as long as they're 100% unique.

And NOBODY else is going to write exactly like you... EVER.

If you are out of ideas, then you chose either a very narrow micro-niche or you aren't using your imagination enough. If it's the site in your signature, there are infinite possibilities for good content in that niche.

How did you make that $5K from the website? Just keep doing what your doing but ram things up.

And yes I would put some money from the profit in to PPC. Why not? as long as its turning a profit.

And take the other guys advise and outsource the articles. Pick long tailed keywords that get traffic which you know you can rank for and creat one article per keyword.

You might want to learn SEO. Im sure someone here can point you in the right direction.

Good luck and well done so far :-)

You face the same problem that any writer faces. Look at magazines like Cosmo, Marie Claire etc. They have a loop and rewrite old things from years ago.

Scaling is the key. You need to outsource the writing job and focus on creating more such sites. That's right; if you have a proven winner on hand you not only need to scale the site but also create more such sites based on what worked for you. And again, you don't have to create the content yourself, you can get it done for really cheap online if you look around. Just multiply your profits by being smart.

Try and expand into other related markets or side markets that are still relevant and apply. I'm sure you will be able to find some new, fresh keywords. If it is too much, then try and outsource that, if not...Then, you might look into flipping it.

    Good luck

    Cheers

I would write down everything that you did to acheive that 5K and offer it as a guide to sell.

If it's do-able for one site/niche, then a person should be able to rinse and repeat.

      ^ Great advice.

Well done for making that money online man. If you can repeat it then you're on your way.

    sell it!

You're obviously not into it anymore, unless it's making autopilot income I'd flip it.

You could always just tone down the writing and post less often.

This might sound odd, but have you thought of spinning your own work?

Take your oldest post, re-read it, then issue an "update" on th subject due to the 2G of the product, or perhaps a price reduction or End Of Life. Moore's Law and all.

Also, as the others have said, outsource and repeat on a new subject, or expand your own. I'm sure the product has accessories, yes?

Buddy, I feel that you aren't lazy with writing........

So, easily, you can go through viral traffic methods.

Here's a method, I've used few times and gotten nice results.

    1. Write niche related eBook while putting links to own sites among the contents. (You'll get over 90% CTR's if you've done it correctly)
    2. Offer Master Resell Rights.
    3. Contact people who're selling stuffs and aware them about eBook.

Apart from that, you've another common option too........

Offer free distribution rights and promote it via free eBook directories.

Anyway, the common option didn't give me enough results.

Hey you can always let someone else do the writing for you!
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[2666266].message }}
  • You know what--you could probably get around ezine's issue of you writing on the same subject all the time if you just had someone else submit all your new articles for you too. If it wasn't the same account, I doubt they'd notice--though I could be wrong. If you're just burnt on writing, I'm sure your writer would be willing to submit to their accounts for you, and then all the writing and submission is not your problem any more.

thanks for the tips guys, ive only ever used ezine. all of my articles are 100% unique but im rehashing the same subject so i think ezine have had enough of me talking about the same subject really.

il try the tips mentioned in this thread and report back to you lot, i think it may be worth posting these articles to toher directories simply because i have a lot of them and the incoming links could do well for my site.

for those asking its not the site in my signature, thats just a hobby site that has earned me something like $6 bucks haha.

thanks once again guys appreciate the help.

Since you know that you can only make money by writing articles and putting them on the site, then you have to write or get someone to write for you.

I don't think that one can get to a point where there's no more topic to write on. Think, think and think on what to write if you are sure that the site brings in 5k annually.

I would outsource, get the site back to making money and head to flipa and sell it.

If you're having challenges thinking of stuff to write it won't get better later.

So, rebuild the income and flip it.

Dude, you could sell that site or submit those articles that Ezine will not accept to other article directories and DOCSTOCK sites (Which can out rank Ezine). Like my man Jeremy K says, Ezine is not "GOD" and there's nothing holy about them. Yes they get a crap load of traffic, but other sites rank just as well. Dont limit yourself to Ezine if they will not take anymore of your content. Let's force authority else where. I have articles on Buzzle that out rank them.

Also, to add to what others above have said, just outsource the content, and do what I said, and then sell the website.

I would ignore ezine, come up with a good seo strategy for keywords, and outsource the seo

and keep you quality content on your site, why would you want to build someone another persons web real estate?

Outsourcing is really a good idea. You might wanna give it a go at SEO since you should have a lot of unique content. Of course you got to pick your relevant keyword strategy for ranking properly.

    kvnkane:

I just sat down for the last two hours with my girlfriend to look at your dslr website (she is a photographer). You have done a really, really good job with your articles, but there are literally thousands more you can write on subtopics, such as alternative light sources, experimental techniques, external filters and reflectors, how to set up a c stand, etc. You might have touched on these a bit (i didn't read ALL of your articles), but I'm sure there is more you can discuss. If you are more of a marketer than a photographer (or both, but just don't know what to write about), you can buy some books on photography, especially textbooks if you can find them, and create articles from the info you learn.

Fantastic, educational website, btw. I can tell you put a lot of effort and hard work into your writing. You could probably write about photography and digital cameras for the rest of your life.. and just keep reviewing new cameras that come out. You'll never run out of ideas! You could even review famous photographs or photographers, processes, etc. Keep it up!
