I'm watching my great site goes away!!!!

Recently i've found some problem renewing a domain name(registrar eats my transactions and doesn't renew my domain) that domain have a nice amount of traffic (it is a free classifieds ads site)
and recently i ranked first in google for:
-free ads (yeah you heard that right ) over 600 000 searches a month
-freeads
-post free ads
-place free ads
-free business ads
and alot more heavy keywords.

my domain is actually expired and pending deletion and it seems that all my trials to call the admins and contact them was failed.

Good bye my Lover !!! (i mean my website of course)

Honest, if you're serious I will help but I searched and wasn't able to easily identify your domain name. If you want to send it to me privately, send me email to kevin (at) dv8domains (dot) com . Tell me your domain name and I will do my best to approach different angles at recovery and help understand your situation.

Your situation sucks, but I've helped with such things before and if you know the inner workings of registrars as I do, it doesn't have to be too much of a challenge. You will have to stay on top of it but I can and will help.

Yes, me too not buying this story....first, if I have a $20000 value domain, I will never wait until it's so close, I'll throw a $100 bucks and renew it for 10 years...

Second, even if it happens that way, I will never complain on the WF, I'll report them immediately to ICANN and start legal actions..this is my property and getting stolen...

Edit: ICANN Contact page http://www.icann.org/en/contact/ ....phone numbers for their offices around the world are there.

        Yeah true story !!
i spend more around 90$ trying to renew the domain, kept doing that for two months, tells me that my domain is renewed and it does not !!

Today i may found some solutions to move the domain to another registrar,or maybe call the RESELLER (as i found out that n4me.eu is just reselling domains)!!
I may get an anwser from the reseller soon!!!

n4me.eu may not be the same as n4me.com (your "registrar"). I've tracked down your domain to publicdomainregistry.com (who does use resellers to register domains, they do not provide services directly. I do not know that n4me.eu uses them or not.
          Their support link: http://support.publicdomainregistry.com ;
You need to get a transfer to a better registrar as soon as possible:
This requires that you First, GET CONTROL of that domain's account (keep on them for this):

          1) Remove the Private registration from that domain (the administrative email must be updated).
          2) Acquire the domains authorization code
          3) Unlock the domain
          4) Contact your intended registrar to determine their incoming transfer process (they might, for instance, require that you pay for a transfer (but will typically renew the domain after transfer done))
          5) I would recommend renewing the domain, even with the current registrar. You do not want to lose it.
*note: privacy removal is usually necessary for the transfer, but removing privacy "technically" updates the whois reg info, which can put a 60-day lock on the transfer depending on the registrar's policies. This is why I recommend renewal as soon as possible. The 90 dollars that you've been spending might be hosting fees? I'm uncertain on what you've paid for.

They have certainly gone away. Either in chapter 11 (or the European equivalent) or just run away (more likely if there were any liquid assets at all). I would suggest getting an account at another registrar, and paying the back order fee so 30 days after it expires you'd be in line 1st. Hopefully no one has already done so. At some point, Icann will have to get involved and sort things out, they may just dump all expired domain into the available pool again as opposed to attempting to contact every one that expired just before or since n4me you's demise, if that info is even kept up by a company that probably knew time was short for 6+ months and might have not bothered with keeping up with little things like 'records'. (contacting Icann is another avenue I would at least try, though they are usually hard to get a hold of.)

    Good luck.

Possibly because it smells worse than a north sea trawler's changing room.

I'm no private detective, but on the surface of it

      1) At least since this post, no single site has ranked no 1 for all the terms
      -free ads
      -freeads
      -post free ads
      -place free ads
      -free business ads

Maybe the OP has Google's cookies feeding him a lie? Or maybe he's refering to another countries google but this is from Google.com

      2) The top three sites for any of these searches all have very different WHOIS profiles and server IP Ranges that just dont fit the pattern of the two sites the OP has listed in his Sig and the others you can find from a google search on his email.

I dont doubt that the poster is a real genuine person; I've read his posts on blackhatworld and he seems to be a genuine guy just trying to get ahead, like the rest of us here, but something doesnt smell right with this.

That's some serious detective work dv8domainsDotCom!
I thought I'd lost a domain name (fridgemagnets.com) because I forgot to renew and the email I used when I bought it 10 years ago I don't use any more. Then I got a phone call from a prominent domain purchaser asking to buy it. I told him it had expired. He told me I still had time to renew it. So I did. He wanted to save it from going to auction by contacting me directly and securing it. Bottom line though, even though it had "expired" I was able to save it, so you may have a bit more time than you think.

    Domain registrar horror stories...

I remember using a Tucows reseller as my registrar for a few domains...

If you were lucky, he'd see your email and reply to it within a week.

Payment was done through PayPal, period, and he sent you an invoice.

So if your domain was expiring, you had to notice yourself (no automatic notification), and email him about the domain you wanted to renew. About a week later, he'd tell you "okay, I'll send you an invoice." A couple days later, you'd get the invoice, pay it, and the money would disappear out of PayPal. Then, sometime next week, he'd email you and say "okay, your domain's renewed."

Which is when you would do a whois on the domain and make sure he ACTUALLY RENEWED IT instead of just meaning to do it later and forgetting.

We transferred our domains away from that guy after a couple years, but seriously, it took MONTHS to pry them away from him.

    1) I have an interest in this exact market and have been doing keywords searches on Market Samurai for a particular site for the terms "post free ads" and "free business ads" for about 6 months. The top sites are never the same for both searches.

    2)
My assumption is that if the poster is trying to renew it, it has only just expired.

From my experience, a site wont disappear from the SERPs immediately on entering into the redemption period (although in fairness it's getting quicker). I ran the search when the original post went up.

Like I said, Im no private detective. You said you didn't understand why people thought this was fishy - this is simply my take and the reason why I thought it was.

Hopefully I'm wrong, and giving people the benefit of the doubt will prove to be the best thing to do.

Hopefully I'm wrong, and giving people the benefit of the doubt will prove to be the best thing to do.

hey man i'm not fishing no one

      here is a proof

      if you still not sure
go here Google SERPS Search Result Position Tool
      type allfreeads.com and "free ads"
      you will see

      cheers

Ok I withdraw all my fish related statements and apologise for assuming the worse...I blame it on living in Great Britain where everyone is a cynic!

Glad you got it back though - now the fight to get to number 1 I guess! Dust off your copy of Xrumer and get going

I had a similar experience as you did.

This happened while I had a computer crash and took several days to gain access to my internet connection.

I lost my website to a reseller. I bought hosting and domain for three years from the reseller. It was a package deal for a great deal, better then GDI. And when I had all prepared to produce a great ad campaign and had dozens of links all over the web, they closed doors.

Since the domain name was in their name I couldn't get it from the original registrar. I contacted the reseller, but he wouldn't answer any emails.

I spent several weeks trying to recover that domain name.

I was asked $1000 for help to be placed in a waiting list, but since I had invested all my cash in the "ad campaigns" (lost, of course) I couldn't spare the cash.

They had registered the domain for another year.

Somebody else registered the domain, and had a sloppy website that received all my "referrals". I knew that from testing different pages that my domain name had.

Now the domain name is available and I am planning on adquiring it.

        Lesson learned:

Never buy from a reseller and get services from very reliable sources.

Get domains from one source and hosting from another.

Now I use GoDaddy for domains names.

HostGator and JustHost for hosting services.

I lost a lot with that experience. Even CPA networks that were very productive.

Curiosity: some on the members here mentioned that the problem presented here could be "fishy", what would somebody gain from placing a "fishy" thread?

        Sincerely,

        Antonios

I( was thinking there was a grace period where you could renew your domain for a price of course. I know Godaddy allows you to do that what I don't know is if this is something that starts at the ICANN level or if it si something that Godaddy does on their own Seems to me if ICANN expires your domain then it can't e reissued by any other party such as Godaddy. So in other words if Godaddy will allow you to redeem an expired domain then ICANN has to still maintain that record for some time for you to be able to redeem it.
