What Makes YOU Look At My Profile?

Just out of interest, I notice that personally I get a steady stream of traffic to my profile
with new people regularly stopping by to check out how bare the cupboards are ;-)

I actually don't tend to visit people's profiles that much. I do PM people occasionally, but rarely just visit their profile page.

So the question is, what draws you to a person's profile? What makes you want to visit?

Cheers,

(a very bored, in a Sunday afternoon mood...)

Nick

Couple of things usually for me. To see where they are from. What other things they may be promoting. Seeing if they have a blog, twitter, etc. And sometime to look at their friends. Sometimes it give a hint of who is following who etc.
Look at statistics most---the postings they have started and ones they replied to, to get an idea if they back up what they preach sometimes, or to just see what's up.
Just went to your profile and like me, looks like you need to do a little work in the area.

Actually, the profiles can be very sticky if done right.

A lot of times I accidentally click through to people's profile when trying to PM them.

Also, if I see someone's name on my profile, I usually look at theirs.

Honestly, I never check anyone's profile. I just read threads and posts and that is about it.

If I think someone knows what they're talking about and they consistently post good stuff I often check out their profile, either to find out more about them or to find and read their other posts.

Or if the live in the UK (or even Brighton I do too).

I check out profiles for most of the reasons listed so far but mainly I use it when someone I'm not familiar with posts something interesting and I want to check out more of their posts.

Plus if I'm trying to track someone down and know they're on the forum, I can check their profile to see which thread they're in...

If someone posts a WSO, I might check his or her profile, if I have not had any previous contact with them.

If you look in your profile at the bottom right corner, you will see a cloud of the people who have visited. 'My page says 'This page has had 151 visits.'

With your photo Nick it might be because your face is quite small in the picture, and they want to get a better look at you. Or they might want to see what your hand is doing.

      Maybe!

But you don't have a larger image in there. Doh!
