Hello Everyone,

I would like to share my sad day with adfonic one week back!

Iam aware that I can promote mobile offers in various mobile advertising platforms like admob, adfonic, inmobi etc., so for very first time I choosed adfonic with a minimum of $50.. and then I picked up two offers in offermobi to promote in adfonic, I successfully created two campaigns & targeted one campaign to usa & the other to australia with CPC of min bid. 0.05 cents...
within 15min my two campaigns went live and checked campaign performance.. I was little get shocked to see the impressions i received for one campaign which was 1450 impressions, (it was approximately 2 min after the campaign is live) then I myself was happy due to not set my campaign as CPM,,, b'coz the CPM cost was $1.20 at that time...

so after 3 min I saw clicks & impressions was raising for my campaigns .... at the same time I checked my conversion in offermobi account, but I didn't found any commissions..

Finally My Impressions : : 163,774, Clicks: :1,014, CTR: :0.62%, Spend: : $50.00

Atlast I lost my $50 in adfonic ... so please guide where did i made my mistake..?

Thanks for your support...

Paid advertising is not for everyone, especially when you have a tight budget. My advice would be to do more research and try to analyze where you went wrong and learn from your mistake. You don't need to be sad because you took action, and not many people do that.

Also set a max. amount of $ which you want to spend per hour (or per day), so you can track the progress while your campaign is running.

You should use Google Adwords to promote your website. It's free and easy to implement with daily budget controlled by you

maybe you should join an ad network as a publisher first... earn some money by showing ads in your mobile site, then user the money you earned to fund your campain...

this is a pretty standard strategy if you want to advertise your site but has limited budget...
many ad networks allow you to do this, even mobgold give you extra 20% of the amount that you transfer from earning to fund if you transfer more than $50... pretty nifty huh???

You didn't exactly "lose" $50 - you got 1000+ clicks - which means the cpc was around 5c.

You need to balance the likely conversion rate with the cost. If 1000+ clicks didn't get you even one sale, then I would look at your sales page copy and try and work out why it isn't converting.

Also look at your advert - is it promising what the sales page is offering?

thats not so bad, you can lose a fortune in mobile advertising in an hour if your not carefull,

you need to test and tweak the offer/ad until you are getting your desired results, work out how much the clicks are, and budget for 300-500 clicks to guage whats occurring, once you hit profit, scale it up all the way, have a look through the cpa forum for more answers, never target a generic term:
lets say you were promoting jamster ring tones and you wanted to direct link, and your keyword bid was ringtones, buy ringtones, buy jamster access etc, you would lose your budget in minutes due to ringtones, where as a creative stating (jamster $5 for 20 ringtones click here) would have a better chance of succeeding with direct linking because the user see's its going to cost money before they click through,

some common sense and plenty of analysis is required with paid advertising whatever the medium, try to avoid direct linking and the creatives the ad network supply, test and guage test and guage until it hits profit then scale it out as far as you can/dare

    good luck with it

Sorry you lost the money. I lost way more than that with Adwords. I don't do PPC anymore.

You need to remove the affiliate links from your signature. They are not allowed. Read the forum rules on signatures.

Wow, excellent answers, I'd note that, that ad networks like adfonic, mobgold, admob, might not suitable for everyone.

    Hi

promoting mobile optimised CPA offers requires more attention and thought that normal desktop CPA offers.

This is because the publisher can often add several layers of targeting to the offer that is not normally found on desktop CPA offers. eg a specific country, females between 24-35 etc etc.

So if you dont set up the campaign properly in Adfonic and select the right criteria you will get the impressions and some CTR, but not paid because its not what the publisher wants.
Therefore, they wont pay the CPA netword and the mobile CPA network wont pay you.

EG a dating offer, for iphones ONLY, in AU. If you dont set the campaign up correctly in adfonic you're wasting your money if its being served in the USA and you've also allowed for droid phones- the publisher onlys pay for details submitted in AU.
I've seen offers limited to Iran only...a video dating offer, so you have to be very careful and follow the instructions on the offer EXACTLY.

so its crucial to set the campaign up exactly as per the offer specifies as each one is unique.

you could also consider what start date you set the campaign up for and what time it goes out- that can make a big difference too.

    Cheers

    Rich

Sigh..maybe you should have tried advertising in free places first. Well it is a make or break it game. On your next try, make an effort to promote on free classified ad sites first.
