When do people typically get paid on day jobs?

I am asking because I am thinking should I launch my new product tomorrow (which is the month end) or wait till Monday.

If you have a day job or have had one recently, do you mind sharing how do people get their paychecks - the end of month or the beginning?

Thank you in advance!

When I had my... *shudders*... job, it was every other Friday. Friday is the most common by far, to my knowledge. A month with three Fridays means people will think of themselves as having "extra money to spend".

The last job I had paid on the 15th of the month, regardless of the day. It was a two weeks arrears, two weeks advance sort of thing each month.

I've had jobs where I got paid weekly, biweekly, monthly, or twice a month.

If it was monthly, it was on the first. If it was twice a month, it was on the first and fifteenth. If it was weekly or biweekly, I had jobs that paid either every week or every other week - on any of the five weekdays. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Any of those. Friday was the most common, followed by Monday, then Wednesday. Tuesday and Thursday were pretty uncommon.

I see that the 1st looks common as well as friday.

I typically stay away from product launches on Fridays because people tend to leave work early or their mind is just not there.

Typically my best mailing days are Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays but provided that this Friday is also the first of the month, and looks like lots of people get paid on Fridays or the first, what are your thoughts on a launch this coming Friday which is the first? (it's launched to my list only)

I've done well with Friday afternoon launches, even though I usually see better results coming from Tuesday and Thursday launches. I don't do so well with Friday morning or evening.

Of course, your mileage may vary. Markets differ. Audiences differ. But I would speculate that Friday morning, people don't have the check yet; in the afternoon, they know how much it is and haven't cashed it yet; and in the evening, they're out drinking and carousing and using up what they didn't need in the afternoon.

If that's the case, go for Thursday if you want to be near someone's payday. There are people paid on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.

Then there's bi-weekly, 1st and 15th and variations in between. But if you know your best list response is on Mon, Tues, Thurs, I'd use one of those days. The reason you track those "best" days is to know when to send the most important emails.

activetrader you are so removed from regular people you don't even know when people get paid, lol. You never had a job before huh, lucky you!

Anywho, people usally get paid like cdark said. Although, different jobs can pay different days such as tues, weds, thurs, friday. Although, the norm is fridays every 2 weeks out the month for most(no hard stats just my observations).

The total time I had jobs was for about 2 years combined.

      Other than that first I was in college;

then got married right after and was a stay home mom with two kids and also managed my husband's office where he didn't really pay me.

Then I day-traded stocks online for three years.

Then I took a job at a startup with a very weird paycheck schedule where it was up to the CEO when to sign checks (basically when we had money in the bank)

After that I got into IM.

Im in the Army, we get paid on the 15th and 30th of the month.

My rationale is if they are going to buy your product and they work online, chances are they have cash lying around.

I get e-mails from people here and there who say they want my product and don't have money, or they'll buy it when they get paid.

Also, a large percentage of my list is work e-mails and they don't get my mailings on weekends, so weekends are out for me.

I work a regular job right now and get paid biweekly on Friday's.

When I used to work as a server I always seemed to get my actual paycheck on Thursday but Friday and Saturday nights is where a majority of the money comes from.

Like the majority said - biweekly on Friday. Thursday isn't uncommon either. Hell, my old 33 month job got paid on Wednesday.
