How Powerful is Ezine

Hi, it seems to be a recurring sentiment that for article submissions, Ezine is the best (or at least one of the best) however I've also read that its not as effective as it used to be.
I wanted to ask if anyone had any examples of what it had done for their site in terms of SEO or SERP's and how many articles it took to have a positive effect.
Thank-you.

I think many things should be put into consideration when looking at the effects of article marketing. What works for me may not work for you. What worked very well yesterday may not work well today.

I think that the best thing is to test and keep testing until you find the strategy that works best for you.

As for me, article submission to EZA and other article directories is still one of the best ways of generating traffic.

That's mostly because people who don't understand how to use article directories do backlinking campaigns and send to EZA (rather than to their own sites) traffic which they themselves are actually generating. And then they wonder why article directories always outrank their own sites for their own keywords.

Personally I think Ezine Articles is very powerful. I get hundreds of hits a day using it and a ton of my articles are on page one of Google.

Like anything I guess you to work at it.

I would also suggest that you do not ignore other article directories as well ... after all traffic is traffic

My approach is to write first for Eza and then recycle into the other directories.

      Correct. And well said.

Most of the time (and this time, too) when people say "Ezine", they actually mean the article directory called "Ezine Articles".

There's so much confusion about it that some people even imagine that it is an ezine, rather than having originally been named as a content depository of articles for ezines.

Hi, sorry I meant ezinearticles.com, as a strategy I plan to use them first but not ignoring others, like goarticles, I quite like Buzzle.com also, reading around the forum, article marketing seems to be a good way forward.
It would be great to hear from anyone who's used purely ezinearticles.com as some kind of experiment, for example: it took me from page 100 to page 1 after submitting x amount of articles.

I agree that EzineArticles.com is a great thing to use to get traffic, then just recycle the articles to the other directories.

Articlesbase is the only other article directory that has shown up in Google for me...but that's me. Honestly I MOSTLY use EZA.

Writing EzineArticles is a great way to get traffic from the random people who are searching the site for information, a great way to get back links to your site, a great way to get content (an article) ranked in Google that is linking to your money site...it's just a good idea.

Still effective as ever for me.

Well I can recently tell you that I went from page 17 to page 1 for a keyword in the health and diet niche with ezinearticles.

Their directory has great authority ... do definitely worth using them

In terms of article directories, yes, Ezine is one of the best as you will see it on the first two or three results of the first pages especially in using Google. It's a high traffic site. But of course, it doesn't mean you'll only rely on it alone. Using other article submission sites will give you a better edge in terms of traffic.

Only by writing articles about your videos and audio files, I think. Or at least about their content-matter, and trying to send traffic to an appropriate website. "Ezine" (actually "Ezine Articles") is an article directory.

You may also (if you want to) be able to republish some other authors' articles from EZA on your site(s), but you'll need to include their resource-boxes to do so. And I'm guessing this isn't at all relevant to what you're asking.

      Yes ... EzineArticles are dofollow.

I only picked up on that ArticleBase is nofollow about 2 weeks ago ... not good enough!

Yes, they are. (To me, it doesn't make any difference whether backlinks are do-follow or no-follow. I have the Firefox add-on that shows them, but I stopped looking at this over a year ago because for my business they all seem to count exactly the same.)

Good Conversation here. My question is, besides EzineArticles which article directories give you decent direct traffic?

I have used ArticlesBase and Goarticles and they both send visitors to my websites no matter the rankings the articles get.
