Need help getting more traffic to my site

Hi Werna,

What are you doing to get traffic to your website? Have you tried looking in the WSO offer section? Have you looked at fiverr.com? Getting subscribers is just down to a conversion rate of how much traffic your getting. It might just be a case where your not getting enough subscribers because your not getting enough traffic? There are services on fiverr.com where you can dramatically increase the number of visitors you get which in return, will increase the conversion rate of people who opt into your list.

When you say "subscribers" are you referring to people filling out a form to get on your list or people actually subscribing to your site feed? Are you giving any incentive to sign up?

exactly...i was thinking about the same thing...in the title she has mentioned that she needs traffic..,but its subscribers....like for a youtube channel or something else.

Try:

1. Article marketing (ezinearticles, hubpages)
2. Building mininets of hubpages, blogger blogs and more pointing to your site
3. Answer yahoo answers (in a legit manner)

Your link is in your sig file.

You have one of those awful pop-ups that stop you leaving straight away. I'd get rid of that for a start. That's enough to put anyone off.

I'm deeply cynical about this type of post.

You say you are getting traffic to your site but the sign-ups are not happening.

You then ask how to increase traffic.

I would suggest that if you are getting traffic, and the traffic is coming from targeted/relevant sources, then I would suggest looking at improving your sign-up rate before spending energy, time and money on driving more traffic to the page.

If the site/page you are looking to improve is in your signature file I would recommend getting the sign-up form "above the fold" if possible and testing/tweaking new bullet points and copy as a start. I would also look at split-testing some titles, as they are the first thing your visitor sees when they land on your page, and thus one of the biggest factors in conversion rates.

One thing I do is make sure that I am giving something away for free. You have to give something to get something. It's not how much traffic you get, it's what you do with the traffic that you are getting. What you selling has to have a solution to peoples problems.

giving something away for free can be a good way to generate traffic to your site people love free things and they will sign up to anything that has the free sign placed on it :p

What you want to do now is test 3 different variations of your squeeze page, to do this head over to google website optimizer and create 2 more squeeze pages.

Now on these squeeze pages I would make sure your optin form is above the fold(before the visitor has to scroll down) and then I would create one squeeze page with just the video and the other with just a pic of the ebook.

test each one using google optimizer send traffic to each one and see which converts better, then run with that one and then test 2 more different versions of that one. Keep doing this till you got a squeeze page that converts at 100%

Oh yes now for the traffic part... depends on if you want to spend money or not.

Usually paid traffic is the fastest and most targeted but obviously you can lose your shirt if you do not know what you are doing. Such as PPC, CPV and media buys (banner ads) ect...

But you can do some solo ads right from this very forum find someone with a targeted list and you get your self some nice signups, but you should put something on the back end like a OTO and some good follow ups.

now for free traffic...

Press releases, article and video marketing are your best bet to get ranked in the search engines and also get tons of targeted traffic from those sites alone.

And as far as social media facebook and twitter are on fire as long as you target people for your niche and has some good value for them.

Traffic is the question on most marketers minds... The ratracelab has hit it dead on the nail though, that before even thinking about increasing your traffic; you should optimize your conversion rate first.

- Your graphics are fancy -- but fancy graphics don't make people optin. A real incentive to receive value in exchange for name and email is what does the trick.
- You could try adding a short 1-2 minute teaser video encouraging people to optin in and telling them and showing them what they will receive. This will also further build your credibility.

I have found the easiest way to get traffic to my sites is to offer incentives to other website owners to drive traffic for me. Affiliates or Joint Venture partners if you will, however, it is pointless to go that route if you are struggling to convert visitors to leads; let alone convert leads to buyers.

That coupled with ezine articles, press releases, social bookmarking, creating videos and posting them to the video sharing websites, viral marketing, and guerrilla marketing are the ways that I drive traffic and find it to be worth my time.

Gotta increase your signup or conversion rate before
worrying about more traffic. Increase that, then get
more traffic.

Getting more traffic to a site that doesn't convert is
like pouring gasoline on a fire you want put out.

Why would some one use a bit.ly link to link to their site? I don't think you own the site in your link and if its an affiliate link its against forum rules to use it here.

The site in your signature link has an Alexa ranking of 17k world wide and 8k USA.

if your not getting sign ups with the current traffic, its not the lack of traffic but more of a conversions issue.

try to get your opt in form above the fold
mess around with your headline and test different version s of it.

for traffic try:
blogging
youtube
seo
test different forum signatures
adswaps

If your using Aweber use a lightbox popover this will really increase your subscribers. Also if you have at least 300 subscribers sign up for safeswaps and start doing adswaps its a great way to build your list a lot faster.

if you have enough budget you can start your campaign with PPC then after you stabilize a good image on the internet you can now go for SEO. and I think that is the best to start a campaign

Nothing to help with until I could see your real site!

Now with that said I am not expert in sales pages but I do know that if your not happy with your conversion rate with your existing layout then you need to tweak it until you achieve the conversions your looking for.

Throwing traffic at your site without doing that first is a waste of your time and money. If your converting at 1% and you can get 2% you've just doubled your conversion rate, now double your traffic.

Not necessarily good enough just to give away a freebie. It needs to be something of value in direct alignment with what you offer. The freebie isn't just a freebie to capture details. It is your lead magnet that introduces your customers to products further down your marketing funnel.

There are so many things you can do, but it's going to take a lot of work. Make youtube vidoes and promote your site. Create interesting vidoes and encourage people to click through to your site. Try to make 1 new video per week- all year round! Write articles for ezine aricles and link back to your site, but don't just write any article. Write keyword optimized articles. Google SEO and keyword research to learn how to do this correctly. I also recommend using twitter and creating squidoo lenses to promote your site. Good luck! It takes time- possibly 2-5 years. Don't give up.

If so, are you an affiliate for that program? Isn't it against the rules to post affiliate links in signature files on this site?

You're not Chris Farrell, so I'm thinking it is an affiliate site.

There are tons of posts here on the Warrior Forum about how to get opt-ins. I'm new to the forum, myself, but I have spent several days scrolling through, clicking, and reading like mad to see what's out there and how it can help me.

If you look closely you will see my name and photo on the site, also in the video Chris mentions welcome to 'this' site, therefore
this is NOT an affiliate link.

My post was put to ask people for help to drive traffic to get people to sign up to my list, not to make any sales!!
My website has nothing to sell on it, it is only FREE gifts I am offering my subcribers an eBook and a weekly newsletter.

I am here to get advise,help and learn from experience marketers, not for sales or anything else, some of the harsh comments I feel is a bit over the top. But I expect eveyone to have their own opinion.

PPC will get you the fastest traffic. Just hope that Adwords dont ban you for whatever reason. Another way to get quick traffic is with article marketing. You should also find a good forum in your niche and post on there quite often. If you're new to making videos, try making videos and submitting them to Youtube. You can use a free software called Camstudio to make on-screen demonstrations of what you are doing (camstudio.org).

I followed Chris Busa's advice and changed my website.

I think it is now more straight to the point.. If they sign up I provide them with 2 valuable free gifts, nothing to buy!!

I am in the process of using the other advise to driving traffic, so will let you know how this turns out.
