How do you pick a copywriter?

I want to have a page re-written on my website, and looking for a copywriter.

I am getting emails from some copywriters, but not sure how to pick one. How would I know who's good?

How much should I expect to pay for this page, Job Finder - Job finder find millions of jobs from thousands of job boards, newspapers, classifieds and company websites.

Any recomendations?

thanks

1.Take a look at their samples, sales letters, and, any other work, comments they may have on the world wideweb.
2.I have no idea but I like the site setup. Did you use a template?

You need someone who's a true professional. There are plenty of people out there who claim to be good writers - but they're also the same ones that think you can learn to write well just by reading things that are written well (there's a bit more that goes into it than that! )

Feel free to ask for writing samples. After all, the work a writer does for you is a reflection on your whole business. A good writer should be able to create content that fits your style. For example, some businesses are more formal, others are edgier, others are wittier, etc. You'll need someone who can go along with what YOU want.

Talk to some copywriters on the phone - pay attention to
the questions the writer asks you. Effective copywriting
is about asking the right questions and digging for the
prime motivator emotions to sell your product to your
target market in the current marketplace. Understanding
the customer is more important than being an amazing
writer. Letters that get banged out without a sincere
inquiry into the buyer motivations for the specific situation
often don't do well, yet those types of letters are common.

In short: get a writer who can empathize with your target
    customer.

This forum has so many excellent copywriters that you would not have to leave this forum to find one. I can't name them all because I know I'll leave some important ones out, but there are a lot. I'd look in Warriors Products and Services and the copywriting forum.

      forget about samples!!!

      Ask about results.
      • Ask to speak to some past clients.
      • Ask for their average conversion rates.
      • Ask how many revisions they will do for you.
      • Ask how they will test your copy.
      Now...

... in some cases you they won't answer any of questions ( mental alert?).

Then, ask for some type of guarantee.

If they've been in your niche before, they should have a good feel what's possible.

      Now...

... in come cases they won't guarantee results (and there are many legit reasons as why).

My best suggestion is to ask as many questions are possible, and LISTEN to their answers.

They might say "NO" or "Can't Answer That". Just ask why.

And in the end, its kinda a crap shoot. So hire 2 to 3 writers, and test to see how wins. It costs more upfront, less down the line.
