ok i've been roaming thru this forum for awhile lookig at all of the threads on how to make money .. but yet i'm so annoyed ...

a little background about me

i started Im almost a year ago bought a couple of products ( what are "wso's " by the way ) tried a few things saw no success .. I thought that this would be something where i can post up a few articles and the money would start rolling in ( boy was i wrong ) i heard every thing write a few articles and set up a eza and a hubpge and squidoo , yet i dont see any traffic to these articles as well as i havent even made a dollar . i know that this is a business and i understand the concept of business .. Yet i don't want to feel like i'm reinventing the wheel trying to find my way in this making money online stuff ... i just want to find someone that can give me a solid blueprint on how to do this i work a 9-to5 so i'm not desparate ,but i do want to build somethign longterm so that oneday i can walk away from my job and focus on other things that i may enjoy ( i guess that's a goal that every one wants) i'm not a quitter however it can become tiresome everyday working towars something that you want soooo bad you just dont know if your doing this right ....

i guess all i'm asking in this world is just a little help ( a mentor if you will ) to show me the ropes on what to do to be successful in IM !!!
i understand that the people have lives .. Heck i even understand that your working on your business and your success but can i be your protege ? can i be your assistant ? can i be someone that you can say eddie i see that your having some issues here .. maybe i can help ? is that too much to ask ?

Please don't take this rant in any way as offensive
i'm just very frustrated and i really just need some help ..

    Hey there...

I can understand your frustration and so will most of the warriors here...
We have all been there and it is a long slog to get the results you want.

Like anything in life it takes time to perfect your craft.
I do think there is information overload, especially in the Make Money Online niche.

We are bombarded all the time with the latest and greatest offers and if you are like me you can get hooked and are forever buying the latest and greatest product....

I have found what worked for me was Affiliate marketing and CPA offers...

I stopped focusing on creating my own products after about 18 months online...

I was creating products, list building and so on and so on.... but this was not creating the income i needed....

So I thought to myself to scrap this method for a bit and concentrating on solely making money. And the way to make money was to sell offers people wanted...

So i was selling affiliate and cpa products...

Once that was moving well and i was creating a income i started to work on list building as i had a income coming in so I could work on having my own customer base and then implementing techniques to get my subscribers to buy, buy, buy!!!

But this was a trial and error process for me as selling to a list is about giving them value, having them look for your emails and them trusting you...

Alot of good online marketers give some of their "BEST" information away to their list as people will have the impression of "Wow if they are giving this type of information away for FREE then imagine how great their paid products must be!!"

Im going a bit off track here

I would say go into CPA and try to market some products there...
This is my 2 cents as it worked for me...

Not offended, but it sounds to me by your post that you thought that it would be easy and that you wouldn't have to work real hard at this. A mentor is a good thing, but if you aren't willing to put in the massive work that it will take, then the mentor will kick you to the curb.

You can learn this stuff on your own, but you need to be willing to work your everliving rear end off to make it work. Posting a few articles won't cut it. First, you need to learn how to run an online business...find a business model that you think might work for you, then take MASSIVE action. Again, a few articles isn't going to cut it for the amount of traffic you need. Everything you need to learn is on this forum...YOU JUST NEED TO DECIDE YOU ARE GOING TO LEARN IT AND WORK IT.

      Eddie Jay,

So you started IM one year ago.....well the "average" IM'r is going to start "getting it" about 3 years. It took me since 2006 to keep on doing it until it finally fell in place and I started making money.

I think most people who start online marketing are working with an assumption of a fairly short time to make money....REALITY....it doesn't happen that way.

You're putting too much pressure on yourself that it should take a short time.....for most of us here, it is an ongoing learning process. I think we get "sucked" in to the many IM get rich sales pages that are not REAL but lead us to believe it took weeks or under a year to make thousands.

The main thing, keep working on it and working on it, learn and don't be afraid to be creative and go against the "grain" if you have to with internet marketing. Heck, I learned a lot more by trial and error rather than "gurus" teaching the magic bullet method. It simply doesn't work for us. What worked for someone else is not going to necessarily work for us.

I'm trying to encourage you without putting you down. If you are desparate, work your day job first and foremost while you are "learning" IM. I learned it in my spare time before I proved I could take the plunge and make good money online. That way there is no pressure.

You have to find your own way. If you choose a mentor, it is going to be expensive with no guarantee that you will actually make money in IM. And buying a lot of IM marketing products is going to be expensive too.

Learn from taking a lot in from this Warrior Forum and go search online for free resources to teach you. My goodness, there is so much free information online to help you with any and all aspects of internet marketing.

Lastly, be proactive and draw up a plan first. For example, say to yourself, "I am going to learn everything I can about affiliate marketing and take massive action towards that goal."

      Hope that helps

Yup about 3 yrs of hard work. You know you're starting to get it when you can explain (in detail) to your spouse exactly what you do for a living and know that they have no clue what you are talking about. lol But they like the money coming in so, ya, whatever. :p

    HERE'S MY AFFILIATE MARKETING COURSE

Affiliate Marketing is physically and mentally exhausting. I find it incredibly monotonous, repetitive and early on you're working in the dark never knowing if you're succeeding. Yet the work continues.

    IT SUCKS.

I even find typing and mouse usage at some point begins to hurt. The mentally exhausting part steps in when you have so many links, so many logins, so many articles that you're head just EXPLODES!

AND YOU STILL HAVE A 100 MORE LINKS TO BUILD... TODAY...

Even more mentally exhausting are the "new ideas" that keep popping up in your head, usually at night, which require more work. After all of this - you may have chosen the wrong niche, and in fact, you probably did.

    IT SUCKS.

This is why most do not succeed at it. This is why I've not succeeded at it. I won't do all that. I've done some of that, so I've seen some of that success, but not a lot of it.

DOING IT HAS TAUGHT ME THAT I DON'T WANT TO DO IT.

I, instead use what I've learned in Affiliate Marketing and apply it areas or niches in which don't seem to utilize it properly. There's no rule that says you have to do this. I've learned a helluva lot. I can put up a wordpress blog in my sleep - and I have! I can get a domain purchased, and the entire site setup in 10 minutes. I've decided to use affiliate marketing for other purposes. My career path has also changed. But there's no promise of success.

    MY SUGGESTION?

Forget Affiliate Marketing. It's who you know. Find people who needs things. Fill that need. Meet people. Look for gigs on Craigslist. You might meet someone who's a business owner in need of a skill you have and not know it. These are the things I recommend and if you notice none of them have anything to do with affiliate marketing, directly.

This is an excellent post. It really had me nodding my head and thinking 'that is so true'. Affiliate marketing does suck - a lot. It bores and frustrates the hell out of me.

But it is the reward that keep me going whenever it feels completely hopeless.

The success makes it worthwhile - but the actual work is terrible. No fun at all.

    Hey Jay,

I feel for you. I have been there just not too long ago.

And I'd be glad to help you! PM me to talk, if you need a mentor. I'm no guru btw, but at least I'll kick your ass for you. Honestly, sometimes it's just a kick in the butt that newbies are missing.

And I'm more than willing to mentor you for free, seriously, because I have been where you are right now, desperate for help and looking for a mentor. I dint have money then, so I couldn't afford one.

I used free resources and asked questions once in a while here. Soon I got started on having some sales coming in.

I'll save you the time for all that. "
hey i tried to send you a pm just dont have that many posts up yet nor can i post up my email address (smh)

As i'm sure you will hear or have already been told, there is no magic formula to success in Internet Marketing. It takes the right kind of mindset in order to be successful, as it does with any job...yes, you MUST treat this like a job and not as some hobby you tinker around with when you have time. That is recipe for failure.

Here's a few pointers that helped me in the beginning:
    - Read and watch as much information about IM as you can. When you think you've watched enough, watch more!
    - Find one area to focus on at first (affiliate marketing, CPC, MFA, etc.). Many fail because they try to do to much at once and don't have enough time to put into a single project.
    - If you fail don't move on to the next project...find out why you've failed and improve on it. It may take you 10 times to get something right, but you'll be rewarded in the end.
    - Once you've found some success with a project, start scaling it up! Build upon your successes by doing the same thing over again. Find out ways to automate the process, hire some freelancers...whatever you can to grow your profits.

Warrior forum is a great place to start. Read and learn what you can and ask any questions you can think of. There are many people here willing to help.

    All the best.
