Hope you're not teaching people how to market at your event

I'm assuming you're looking for online ways to advertise??

If you want to do it for free, you can do things like Craig's List ads.

If you're willing to invest a little money, PPC could be your simple solution.

Thanks James, I might invest a bit of cash into PPC on facebook. We're currently running ads on Radio and posting to facebook fan pages and facebook events. I was thinking about getting a street team to do flyers on houses and cars... This is actually a real estate investment seminar...

Any PPC site that lets you geo target ads (EX: Facebook) will be a good way to market.

Here's one off the wall that works like a charm:

Go to your area cafetria lady at the elementry schools in the areas you want to target.

Propose that you will furnish their lunch menus free of charge and/or effort on their part and to their specifications.

At the top or bottom of each menu, place your title and a url and number (if you have one).

Cost: 1 ream of paper per school, 1 cartidge of black ink.

      Reason:

The majority of the time when menus are handed out to the students every month, they end up on the refidgerator...All Month Long and is looked at everyday.

For greater online coverage, go to Eventbrite.com You can set up your own event and "ticketing" for it too. What's cool about Eventbrite is that it is also a social media site so you get viral with using it. Best of all, it's free.

I have used this for my live seminars in my city and works like a charm.

  • I had a look at your website … it looks great! I suggest you register with different social network sites, especially Facebook and Twitter which are the most important social networks available today for promoting your online business. Also you would be well advised to open a fan page on Facebook for your online business.

Hm, not sure if I would set my priority on Facebook and Twitter for a local event.

I'd probably search for websites and directories that come up for local searches. Then contact these websites.

      Local newspapers are also interesting.

Both, for ads and editorial content that you might provide for local web sites and newspapers.

Try craigslist, backpages, merchantcircle, and local ppc. Have a good landing page that they can go to. Hopefully this helps.
