Does Affiliate marketing work?

There are a lot of folks that make a very good living selling the products of others. However, there are many more that fail.

Affiliate marketing takes work and research. Simply putting up a website with affiliate links will not produce desirable results.

Of course it works. If it doesn't nobody would be studying it and you would of never heard about it either.

Yes, it does work.

Unfortunately many courses tout it as some sort of "quick and easy" way to make money. The truth is that you need to drive traffic to your affilaite offer just like selling anything else. There is nothing quick or easy about it, but, as stated above, many people make a boatload of money doing it!

Of course it can. If you go through this forum you gonna see it by yourself. There are many posts with tips, tricks and advices how to earn with affiliate marketing. You don´t even have to buy one of these ebooks.

The secret?
-Give away valuable information
- Build a massive list and solid relationships.

Affiliate is the quickest way to earn boat loads of money on the internet, you only need to follow the ever changing trend in affiliate marketing to succeed. For example, don't promote product you cannot use yourself. Do not be the so called "hide and sick affiliate marketer". What this implies is that, is it better to let your subscribers have a feel that you are an affiliate. Although many people will disagree with this, but i bet you it works

Affiliate marketinbg works best if you have maybe 100 top ranked websited.....lets say you make $100.00 a month of each one you got yourself $10,000.00
But you have to get ranked on top of google and keep maintain a fast pace to saty on top !!
The average person doing affiliate marketing makes $2.00 a month...sorry but that's the truth.....It can be done....but there's better ways to make money online !!

The average person in affiliate marketing puts up banners and let's it go at that. They don't know anything about marketing and think that putting up a banner on their blog will make them a few bucks.

Most affiliate marketers aren't in the business to make more than a couple hundred bucks a month.

And yes, you CAN make 5 figures a month from a single site, without being ranked #1 in google...If you know what you're doing, and consistently do it.

Blanket statements like "there's better ways to make money online" are untrue. I may find your "better" ways to be boring or too much of a royal pain.

I understand so many people here are focused on creating info products, building lists, etc. But there are other ways to make money online...and not just in the IM niche.

My #1 producing site has NOTHING to do with IM. It deals in physical products that are shipped directly to your door. I don't ship, maintain inventory, have a huge staff, or the associated costs of owning a warehouse.

Why?

Because I'm an affiliate.

I provide the consumer with information. They make the decision to buy, and I get a cut. Simple, effective, no stress.

And it beats the hell out of my last job.

Absolutely it works provided you go about it the right way. I build review sites offering the top 3 products for a given clickbank niche section and do rather well with it.

A better question to ask is: "How does affiliate marketing work best?" Because a good percentage of people in a forum are simply looking to compliment the conversation to get a higher posts score. You also box in prospective repliers to actually throw down some real knowledge. Not trying to come off condescending, but people always seem to ask this question and the thread seems to devolve the same way every single time.

Since you need to be able to drive traffic I think affiliate marketing works best as a supplementary skill. In other words, hone your skills in development, web design, or whatever so you can create something the community actually wants or needs. I say that not only because the methodologies of driving traffic pubicly dicussed are expensive in both terms of money and time, but also because putting too many eggs in one basket makes you more of a gambler than a professional. Besides, there is nothing more viral than a solution to a common problem.

Disregard complexity, acquire success.
