Simple Tip For Effective Sales Pages

Hey guys,

I'd like to share a simple little tip with you. Something which can make your sales pages much more effective.

This tip can transform your sales page into something much more cleaner, easier on the eyes and much more readable.

I've come across sales pages which quite frankly cause me eye strain. They are cramped and there's stuff all over the place. It kinda suffocates you. And who would want to read a sales page like that let alone buy from it?

The key tip I want to share with you is use "White Space." Use plenty of white space on your pages. It makes the text easier to read!

Here's what I mean:

Which looks better? Which is easier to read?

Here's a little tutorial (don't worry it's fun!).

1) Don't make your text area wider than 700 pixels. Narrower column is easier to read.

2) Give your text table a cellpad of 10.

3) Indent your text and give it a line space of about 1.3 pixels.

That's about it. Do this and your pages will look cleaner and be easier to read. Which inevitably give you more sales.

REMEMBER: This tip won't magically improve bad sales copy, but it will turn a good sales page into a better sales page.

You are soooo right. The layout says volumes!

Cluttered page implies cluttered thinking.

Big paragraphs of text implies dreary reading.

No subheads makes it much easier to skip all that text and read like the last sentence.

This holds true especially for online selling, where eye-strain from reading the computer screen needs to be considered.

Yes, layout speaks huge. But! IMHO, the layout needs to support the message conveyed in the sales text - in other words, it needs to be quietly in the background, like a faint whiff of oregano on that hot, cheesy pizza.

I think you could break the paragraphs up into smaller ones and introduce more white space. Also the idea of bolding a few important words might stop the reader's eye long enough to get them interested in actually reading.

Yep breaking paragraphs into smaller ones is a great idea for using white space.

Bolding text is effective too but that comes into another category like formatting. Formatting, colours, fonts, graphics all play a part in effective sales pages but the tip I'm giving here is specifically of using "white space" effectively.
