question on Dofollow or nofollow when blogging

Hey everyone

Craig here.

Just a quick question.

What is the difference between a do follow and a no follow blog?

Whats better to blog on?

Thanks in advance.

    Blog on do-follow blogs

Do-follow links pass on link juice

Google spiders won't follow nofollow links so no "link juice" is passed on. Dofollow links on the other hand are followed by the search engine spiders and the "link juice" is passed on. This helps your site climb the search engine rankings faster.

Some no follow links are helpful to look like natural linking.

        1. So for obtaining external links pointing to our site, should we only comment on blogs that allow do follow links? If so, how to we find out if a blog allows do follow links?

        2. Also, for our own blogs, when we create links pointing to other sites, including our affiliate links, should we add the rel="nofollow" code to those links so as to keep the leaking of link juice from our own blogs to a minimum?

        Thanks.

  • Both are useful. Web crawler follow your dofollow link. It helps to increase keyword ranking and PR but it's all depends on blog quality.

Nofollow does not web crawler follow. You may get some traffic from that link.

If you want to get picky about it, there is no such thing as "do-follow." There is only no-follow or 'not no-follow'. Using a do-follow tag won't break your page, but it doesn't do anything but provide a footprint for comment spam programs to follow.

If you look at what Google has actually said, they still follow 'no-follow' links. Those links simply don't get any of the PR juice passed on to them. Such links are still useful for both getting the target page indexed and for generating human traffic.

Last time I checked, I couldn't find a single instance of any search bot buying anything from me or subscribing to any of my lists. So I concern myself with getting human visitors, and their dollars and attention, far more than I do with running up my backlink score like some kind of demented pinball machine. (For you young'uns, a pinball machine is sort of like a mechanical video game...)

Get both types, both are good and the time you spend trying to sort out one from the other can be more useful doing something else.
