Does Domain Name Require Spaces? Please Help

Hello My Friends:

Please help me understand this. I own a name, alternative energy assessments.com. If you put those words with quotation marks into Google, with the spaces, then the hit rate is something like 76,000 for the time period. But when I registered the domain, the spaces went out. If you put the words into Google without the spaces, the hit rate goes down to 15.

Can we buy domain names without spaces? Is there a way to buy leaving spaces in order to take advantage of the higher hit rate?

    Hello Jim,

    Unfortunately, domain names may not have any spaces.

    You can either get the domain name without the spaces or with hyphens.

    i.e.
    AlternativeEnergyAssessments.com
    Alternative-Energy-Assessments.com

    Note: Upper/lower case characters are irrelevant and are equally the same.

    I'm not really sure about what you mean by "hit rate" but Jim, google does understand that domain names may not contain spaces and can interpret the keywords in your domain name.
