Requesting WP Assistance...?

*Sigh....

If you know how to work with code then I give you major props because it baffles me time and again. I'd like to add only a couple of minor things to my blog in order to get it goin but I'm working with a template I purchased and the code within it is ummmm......what?

lol

So I know that everyone within the WF is busy working on projects and deadlines and everything else but if you could find just a few moments to help out a lone blogger with no sense of code then I would be greatly in your debt!

Hit me up on here or on a social network or wherever, it doesn't matter to me; I have Skype, AIM, and Windows Msgr as well.

Once again - I understand if I don't get any responses because I feel like a beggar on the street with a little tin cup right now lol :p I have no money to offer in return (literally my last few dollars just went towards my Dell debt) - but it would be GREATLY appreciated if anyone could and I'll offer anything in return that I can - perhaps a review of something or I could promote some of your links to all my social networks?

I dunno.....but lets collaborate!

Thanks either way simply for reading my plight

Have a good one guys!

    Brekat,

    This is WordPress, yes?

Have you done the "5 minute install" on your server? Need 3.0.1 before applying the theme.

If so, what are you having trouble with? Most things can be handled from the CP in WordPress. Can you be more specific?

    Hey Michael

Yeah I figured I'd wait and give specifics if anyone wanted to help me out but all I really wanted to accomplish with it at the moment was to set up my flickr account to the designated area at the bottom, link my wp blog to my twitter account so that when I make a new wordpress post it notifies my twitter followers and lastly, to enable this creative commons license plugin that I found so that I can post my poetry to my blog.

I'm using a template/theme that I purchased from an outside source and am using for my wordpress blog. When I install a plugin for one of the above-mentioned endeavours...it doesn't show up on my blog and I don't understand why. I'm assuming it must be because of this template perhaps...?

I'm not sure so I figured I'd give the forums a crack at helping me since I'm struggling with trying to research this issue and am terrified of ruining my blog somehow which I've done in the past trying to mess with code myself haha.

Anyhow, hope that helps - here is the url that I am using for my blog as well so you can see what I'm workin with if you wanted too. MyBreality.com

Thanks for the reply!! I hope to hear back

    EEEK!

Well, for Twitter integration, Try "Auto Twitter" Plugin by Dan Coulter. Instant updates to Twitter when you publish and edit (if you choose).

Can't help with the Flikr, though. I'll wager you'd need to look around the Flikr site for an API or some-such.

As for the CC licence, maybe put the JPG depicting the licence on your post?

Nice site BTW, hope it does well.

I'm not much of a coder and can;t help much. Sorry...

I hope this bumps the post for you so you can get good help.

For many plugins, there is a link to the creators site where a lot of them do have detailed installation instructions.

Go to your list of plugins and within each Description there should be a link to a website.

You may search for FlickRSS plugin on WordPress.org. This plugin adds a sidebar widget that integrates with your Flickr photostream... if that's what you need. Hope it helps.

I have used the Slickr Flickr plugin myself, it gives you great integration with your Flickr account and has all kinds of slick (pardon the pun!) options (autoplay, slideshows, etc.)
