Questions about video capturing program

Hey Everyone,

Since I have been learning about Internet Marketing I have been watching tons of videos. Well most of them are screeen capture type of videos using some type of program. I believe they are camtasia.

I'm curious as to what program jeff walker was using when he recorded product launch formula 2.0? I'm trying to find out what program lets me do the whole red circle thing. Basically where I can go and underline text or circle text. It usually shows up as red.

I have seen with camtasia where i can get the mouse to highlight yellow, but I can't figure out how to do the text thing where I can circle text, underline it and etc as I saw Jeff do in his videos. Any help would be great.

Thanks

    Yo Joshua,

I'm pretty sure Jeff uses a Mac, and there's no Camtasia for Mac I don't think, so I'm not sure.

Possibly it's ScreenFlow, as it's a pretty cool piece of software for screencasting on a Mac.

      Thanks,
I'm using a windows so I wasn't sure if it was a program I can use. I Camtasia is pretty cool, but that whole underline thing or circling text if you need to is too cool/ Thanks for the help.

Snagit is much cheaper than Camtasia but is generally used for static screenshots.

I have used it for several years and like it a lot.

You can bring it up with a hot key anytime that you have something on the screen that you want to capture.

When you first make the capture, you are given a screen where you can "write" or put arrows point to a particular place. You can put blocks of text to explain what is going on.

There is really no Time pressure with static pages. I have used Snagit and these annotated screen captures to produce what I think are pretty effect Tutorial.

Video requires a little more planning and rehearsal to get everything together, I think.

Try Snagit trial and then, if its video get Camatasia or CamStudio if you are on a budget.

        Good luck,

Does anyone know any good free screen capture software? I just downloaded CamStudio but it seems like that is more a video recording software than one that takes screenshots. I don't know I could be wrong.

Perhaps you could download a free trial of SnagIt:

      www .techsmith. com/snagit/features.asp

Think it lasts for 30 days.

      That's not an affiliate link.
