What Should Be The Niche Of My Blog?

Hi Guys, this is my first post in this forum and would like to accept some critiques of my blog.

I have been posting on my blog (first link of my signature) for the last 10 months or so and I don't seem to be getting any much loyal readers over at the blog.

I have been trying to develop the "make money online" niche for my blog but with all the big gurus in this current niche, it will take miracles to break into this niche.

I do have interest in the online marketing community, like observing how the Gurus market their products and doing reviews on the products.

So what should be the niche of my blog or any good suggestion that I can head towards to?

Therefore would like to trouble all of you to give me some honest critiques of my blog and how to improve on it - any suggestions (harsh negatives or positive ones) will do just fine.

Thanks in advance! My blog is the first link of my signature.

What do you know/what do you have information about/ability to learn vs what niche do you think you could make the most money in? Asking others can only get you so far, the best person to ask is yourself.

    Sincerely,

    Hi Dexterc,

I think your blog has a good foundation.

Focus on what kind of benefit you want to bring to a specific group of readers.

It could be like what Victor has mentioned, reviews of IM products.

    Some suggestions:
    1. I think your blog takes quite a while to load. Use the <! -- more --> tag because readers do not read most of the posts. If they are interested, they will click on the "more".

    2. have an optin box...start building your list of loyal readers who may become your customers.

Keep on moving forward and I think you are going to be really successful!

    My 2 cents. =)

    Cheers,
    John

    A few observations...

Your theme is rather dull and boring and seems to be broken in places. Consider using a magazine style theme instead.

Your theme is cluttered with advertising and widgets. Cut back on the banner advertising, especially Adsense and the 125x125 ads that everybody and their brother's cousin is running. It makes you look, well, desperate to make money.

Work on targeting Google traffic. This means building anchored links and using good SEO friendly titles and a few other internal SEO tweaks. Mainly, don't use the title "Blogging With Affilicore" because that's not a search term. Use something like "Affiliate Marketing Reviews" or "Online Marketing Hints" as your main title text. Use a graphic for branding the Affilicore name, not text.

Since you want this to be a flagship blog too, work on building referral traffic by commenting on blogs and building relationships with other bloggers.

I think there are 2 main problems here:

    1. You monetize too early. I bet there are hardly any visitors subscribing to your blog or coming back for the next time. The reason is because you already started to put lots of banners and promoting products without having a group of loyal readers. You should take out those banners and start putting your best content on you blog.

    2. I bet that you are not a guru in affiliate marketing. People are naturally attracted to experts. That's why doctor don't chase their patients to buy their medicine. You need to start with something that you are better than other people. It's because people want to read your stuff. No offense. I might not want your advice if I am doing affiliate marketing. Not because I don't like you. I might like you very much but you can't help me like other gurus. (It's harsh but it was the best advice from my father)

    Hope this helps!
