Can you use DL Guard to track affiliate sales using their coupon code feature?

Also, would an affiliate get "notification of sale messages" if a sale is made? The reason why I ask is because I want my JV's/affiliates to see (on their end) if a sale is made....rather than rely on me if sales are made.

    Hi Chris,

    You could possibly do this, but you'd need to have a bit of custom code written to automatically "submit" a coupon code from a sales link.

    The affiliate wouldn't get an email by default - you'd need some custom code for that too.

    What I'd recommend is just using an affiliate system - DLGuard will work with any good system out there.

    Or if you don't want to buy extra software, then you could just use one of the payment systems with a built in affiliate system such as Clickbank, PayDotCom, or Click2Sell.

    Chris - what about simply having your coupon code submission area show up so that visitors get the idea that they are getting a discount.

    Example:

    Buy now for $99
    (enter coupon code ______)
    [Submit]

    Now the affiliate emails his list and says, "Normally this costs $99 but I've managed to get you a discount. Use coupon code "chris-t" for a big discount"

    As Sam said, some custom code could probably handle the email part for you.

      In addition, it's simply impossible for the affiliate to "trick" his list members into typing a code the same way he might stuff a cookie or redirect a link.

    What I've done w/ DLGuard in the past, is to email my affiliates, and tell them that I can make them a coupon code if they'd like to use one for their promotions. Then I'd make a separate coupon for each affiliate that asked for one.

      I'm wanting to do a WSO and have my JV's email their lists to drive traffic to the WSO page and use their custom coupon code so DL Guard would track who got what sales.

      Can DL Guard do this Sam?

    You can then view the sales and you'll see which coupon was used for which sale.
