Today is a great day..

Last night I finally bit the bullet, and created my first ever domain and blog. After weeks of reading, I decided to stop overloading myself with information, and start taking small steps toward success in Internet Marketing. I am currently working on Optimizing my blog for a specific keyword, and after a couple of tweaks here and there, Traffic Travis is saying that my main page rating for my main keyword is an A+. I am already on my way!

I am still trying to figure out a couple of things. I used WordPress as my blog, and I like that you can add pages to the site. The only thing is, I would like to have one of the pages dedicated to recipes. However, from what it looks like, I can't add posts to a certain page. Is there any way to use the Recipe tab as a filter to filter all of my Recipes from the main page to that tab?

    Hi,
    Good luck with your new blog!
    You can use categories to filter your posts.

    Hmm... I see you have an RSS feed subscription option, but if you add a way to subscribe via email, I'll be there. (You can do that via Feedburner, iirc.)

      As Zabrina (hey there!) suggests, GET AN OPTION TO SIGN UP FOR AN EMAIL LIST!

      Put some basic info in an autoresponder and get it going!

      Listen, it's up to you how your promote this thing, but since you TOOK action, do it right from the start - start building a list and build a reputation with that list... tips, recipes, whatever.

      You could compile all these into an ebook and sell that (or pay a ghost write to do it for you).

      You could repeat that over and over - ramen noodles recipes, things you can cook with your iron, 15 complete dinners from a can, stuff like that.

      You have an audience that could stay with you for 4 years, maybe 5 or 6 - that's a long time and you can do a lot of sales in that time.

      Also don't forget PARENTS - they know their kids can't cook and are away at school for the first time. They are a huge market for you too!

      All success - CONGRATS for DOING SOMETHING!!!

      (not yelling, excited for you!)

    @Zabrina
    I will definitely look into the feedburner option. I am excited to see if I can get an email list.
