Best method for fast traffic boost?

I've spent a lot of time on product development lately and neglected promotion. Traffic is down even though my SERPs remain at about the same levels.

What's the fastest way to churn up some fresh traffic? -

Press release? (I've tried this in the past. It produced a big boost in traffic but poor conversion.)

A flurry of articles?

Target new keywords?

RSS? (I haven't yet started using RSS feeds. Will this have a quick effect?)

Any other suggestions?

    1) put your keywords in your signature
    2) press releases
    3) my latest favorite - Hubpages - My hubs have been ranking high, getting traffic, and converting into sales.
    4) traffic exchanges - Do it right though -splash page with free offer that appeals to T.E. surfers. Surf 7 sites at a time.
    5) offer free, valuable, interesting information like a ebook or video and encourage people to pass it along so it goes viral. Perhaps, if the ebook is worth it, put a price tag on it, and make it rebrandable so people have a incentive to sell it.

    I think it is back to the drawing board where is your targeted customers.

    Then your traffic strategy should be specifically targeted on where they are hanging out.

    Twitter - converts well for me in terms of getting new customers and in sending traffic spikes.

    Press releases - fast traffic. But in terms of conversion, if your results have been poor I'm not sure what to tell you there. Is it possible that the press release was written in a way that didn't convert?

    1. Article Marketing
    2. Blog Commenting
    3. Forum Marketing

    Untested by recommended by most experts: Google Adwords

    Another way to generate traffic is through slideshare.net. The are similar to youtube but you can only upload slide shows. I like it, you might want to try it out.

    There are many ways to drum up traffic. Probably the fastest method, which would also be driving TARGETED is PPC ( pay per click). Since the traffic will be targeted you should see better conversions than perhaps the press releases you've done in the past produced.

    If I were going to use a free method of driving targeted traffic then, as you said, I would go with the flurry of articles.

    I'd say article marketing would be a good start. I'd also go on what I like to call a link rampage and spend a few hours creating some buzz on social marketing sites, blogs and bookmarking sites. While some of the traffic won't convert well you'll build your off-page SEO while you're at it.

      Stumble upon is also one of the best way to get more & regular traffic.

      And keep bookmark your site or blog in regular bookmarking sites like plibb.com,folkd.com,propeller etc.

      Social bookmarking is also one of the helpful way to get good traffic.

    Here are my own results:

    Articles (time taken: 18 months) - 50-100 subscribers per day

    Adwords (time taken: 2 months of optimization) - 30-40 subscribers per day

    The numbers don't lie.
