What should I charge for this?

Hey Warriors,

I created a Wordpress plug in that allows you to quickly create squeeze pages that are fold free and themeable. I am working to design theme packs that will be available at about $10/pack.

I priced the plug-in at $57 but I know and have received feedback that it's a little high.

I priced it high to give affiliates a good commission (60%).

I want to ask the warrior crowd their thoughts on what I should charge and what you would sell it for. Check it out here - http://www.wpsqueezer.com

I won't be offended so be brutally honest.

Thanks

Looks good. It does seem a bit pricey, but looks good.
Maybe instead of dropping your price you brainstorm what you can do to increase the perceived value of what your selling.
Maybe add a full length instruction video that walks people thru the entire process of installing and using it.
    Maybe a larger template pack.
Maybe a try and buy, pay $27 now and get billed for the other $30 in 3 days unless canceled.
Maybe you've created other plugins...throw an old one or two into the mix.

You know - brainstorm. You think this is what's it's worth, otherwise you wouldn't have priced it at that. Now your job is make the customer believe it, or make it seem less costly or painful to buy.

Good luck, looks like a great product.

Thanks Sardent. I like the try and buy. I plan on creating a full site for the theme packs so I may drop the price to say, $37.

I agree, I need to promote the value of this better.

I sold my Thesis skins from $27-$57. The price points didn't make any difference. People that liked a particular skin bought it regardless of the price. The skins that sold the most were priced at $47.

Do you have a demo of a page made with your plugin?

$57 is too weird for me. Either give it a value of $67 or more of a "going rate" of $47.

Bill, here are two links to samples:

More themes (and better) are in the works.

Vincenzo, out of curiosity, what makes $57 weird for you? Im kinda thinking $37-$47.

I appreciate the feedback. I've dropped it down to $37. I bumped it up to 70% commission to offset the price adjustment.

Actually I would TEST the price.

After dropping it down to $37, bump it up to $67. You never know. The conversion rates for $37 and $67 could be the same.

No one knows what price you should sell the product. We can only guess. By testing you will KNOW.

Try to confirm the tests and then go full throttle with your best price.

Best of luck with your product!

You did a great job on those themes. Another thing I learned about selling skins was to many choices and people don't buy. Max 6 themes.

$37 is to low for the quality you're producing. You'll sell the plugin, it just takes time.

    Shouldnt you be split testing?

As a suggestion, why not run seperate sites with different pricing points and find the best performer.

Start at like. $20 to get attention to it and work your way up? $57 is wayy too high.

Can you choose fonts, background images etc ?
You could charge more if it offered such customization options.

    Silly question.

Why aren't you creating WP squeeze pages with or without being video-embed ready? especially since you are using video on your page.

As to price - Suggest trying the first 10 sales for $20, then $24, etc. Just to get a feel for price points.

your videos on your sales page are crap, if someone is making a squeeze page they know what a fold is, they may not understand fold free but I dont want to look at your WP Dashboard for 2 minutes to find out. You lost me as a customer right there.

    Just get to the point.

Fair enough hoot. I disagree that that if a person is making a squeeze page they already know what the fold is. I do need to work on some better videos though.

persuade the customers of the value, don´t think its so expensive but try to make it as and offer and drop it to let us say 45 $. Then some people think they are making a great deal instead of just dropping the price.

Start your price low and when sales start increasing gradually increase it (a fire sale).
