::Edit: Deleting initial post and replacing with this:

In the unlikely event that anyone ever reads this old thread, let me say this.

I made every newbie mistake in the book, and when things didn't work out I got really frustrated and came in a spirit of desperation.

Dear newbies:
Don't look to make money online fast. It doesn't happen.
Acts of desperation never yield good results. You need inspiration and concentration, not desperation.
Stick with one method and see it through, don't hop from one product/method to another.

I've been successful offline and am proud to say that since this post several months ago have become more successful online as well.

Peace.

I can't help, but have a site called Squeeze Theme bookmarked for future reference. It's a WP Plug-in that looks pretty easy to use. (I'm not an affiliate - just have it saved b/c they have some other products I'm considering for future reference b/c they look so easy to implement with WordPress).

    Hi Jarrod.

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but without ready buyers, having a product isn't going to do you much good -- no matter how well your sales page, blog, affiliate area, etc. look.

Do you have a product people already want to buy? Are you already good at getting people to take a look at your sales page (aka generating traffic)? There is a lot more to the "selling online" equation than people realizes, or tell you, sometimes.

It's not that it's difficult to set up all these things, but there are lots of little parts to the whole.

    First, finish the sales page.

Go to Clickbank, or some other affiliate processor and find out what is selling like hotcakes.
Now go look at their sales pages.
Take the one you like the most. The one that makes even you want to buy the product.
    Look at the layout.
    Look at the colors.
Look at the fonts and sizes.
Look at the first line. Write a similar one except for your product.
Look at the second line. If it tells you something about the product, then in the second line you tell something about your product.
    Etc.
    Etc.
    Etc.

Let someone else do the research and testing on what works and what doesn't.
    Then make it your own.

PS. What's wrong with Weebly? I use it for a lot of stuff. I have the Pro account and have built 4 perfectly functional and working websites so far with it.

    Hi jarrod_d,

You said the product is great for customers, and you have done a good job on the website and salesletter. Then it seems what you are really looking for is quality traffic. But you also said you'd tried many kinds of traffic sources and did not get good results.

If your product and sales page are okay, then the last thing will be your traffic. Even though you tried many traffic source, but it doesn't mean you really use the right way to get targeted traffic. Say, many people are using PPC, is all of them making money on that? Absolutely not. Your methods are very important. If you can get people who are search the right keyword to click your Adwords ads or some other search engine's ppc ads, chances are that some of them will buy from you. If you get nothing sold, probably you're using wrong keywords. Testing is very important.

PPC is just an example here. Different traffic sources have their own rules which you have to grasped it. Find out the mistakes you've made before considering a traffic source does not work.

If you wish to get quick results, PPC will be a good way while you'll have to prepare enough budget to test and buy some related tools. If you're active in some forums or Yahoo Answers, you may get some free targeted traffic there. There are many ways, the most important thing is you do it right and to scale it.

Finally, you have not yet told us what your product is and your website. :-)

    Hey jarrod_d,

    I misunderstood something.

Why not hire somebody else to put everything up for you? You can find many such guys in Warriorforums and other forums, like http://www.warriorforum.com/warriors...eve-price.html

There are many other options on the internet to build a whole sales site for you at a few hundred dollars, including ecover, sales page design, thank you page, etc.

Since I am not good at designing, I've outsourced these jobs too. It'll cost some money hire 2-3 designers doing the same job to find out who can meet your criteria.

I get it all, and know just what I need to do to execute once I get through these current hurdles. But unfortunately neither Jeff's program nor any other I've seen actually offers the step by step pieces I need. They offer other step by step pieces and TONS of great info with killer techniques and strategies, but without a working site that has all the right components, that's all useless.
      Hi Jarrod,

if you have a great product then you seem to be so struggling with a nonissue. I think of the most important thing and if you have that figured out, been making the website could be the easiest part. If you do what you're so that it can be very time-consuming and cumbersome but why don't you outsource this.

I completely agree with twist. If you have a great product and can generate lots of traffic then why struggle with making a website. Just outsource that.

well, personally I like to make my own site. but the reason for that is that I am still learning how to generate traffic at this stage I don't want to commit of a big expenditure in outsourcing. I would much rather take it slow and put all the pieces together myself.

      Best of luck.

Over the last few months I have read multiple e-books, gone through numerous trainings, done tons of online research, listened to just about every major guru in the internet marketing business, and now all this time later I am still continually running into dead ends and getting stuck. I have a product to sell but can't sell it without getting through some of these hurdles, and most of the information out there shares strategies and techniques (which is great, don't get me wrong) but where the rubber meets the road and it comes to just getting everything up and running properly, no dice. Meanwhile I have a wife and three kids to support and we are virtually broke. I'm trying so hard to make this thing work.

When I first started out I created my website through Weebly. Then came to see all the evidence behind having a one page sales letter website. As Weebly was not conducive to such, I cancelled with them and (per clickbank recommendation) went to pitch magic. Pitch magic makes a lot fo the stuff easy but some of the most critical things you need they are lacking on (such as a blog on your site, a separate page welcoming affiliates and explaining your offer, etc.)

Seeing as how all the gurus always go with wordpress, I then went that route. But I have spent countless hours playing around with wordpress trying to get a decent looking sales letter web page with the thank you page, blog page, affiliate page, and other basic stuff, and I am having the hardest time figuring it all out and getting this working.

The bank is pretty much empty right now, but I will gladly find a way to pay a little money to someone who can help be get through all these hurdles and get up and running.

Please, I am at my wits end.

    Jarrod

PS-If you have any sort of products/trainings/services that you sell for internet marketing and are able to lend a helping hand here, you will very likely have a customer and avid marketer in me for life. Please, I'm desperate.
If I am understanding what you are saying, it sounds like you just need a web designer. If you have the content you are going to put on your sales page and on your thank you page...go to the warrior for hire thread and strike up a deal with a web designer.

I understand - when I first went looking for a way to make sales pages and squeeze pages on WP there was nothing out there.

Take a look at this squeeze page plugin for WP - very nice with lots of options for squeeze and sales pages.

I read the Niche Overdrive guide yesterday - by Suzzane here on WF - and I suggest you read it too. It takes a lot of stuff out of your eyes and gives you the real deal. I can't post the link here, but just google Niche overdrive, or contact Suzzane here on WF.

BTW, you don't start with getting the product; do your research first. All the best.

I'm confused, is the problem that you aren't comfortable with the design of the sites that you created on both WP and Weebly?

I agree, wordpress is easy. I have 120 sites on WP.
If you are having a hard time setting up your site, just outsource it. Someone here on the Warrior Forum can easily do that for you. Save yourself the stress and hire a pro for that so you can stay focused on marketing, which you seem to have a good understanding of.
