My visit with Michael Tracey

Hey Warriors,

I visited Michael Tracey on the weekend......

I told Michael that there are many people out there who don't
know him from a bar of soap and that they would all be interested
to know how he's doing - so he agreed to me giving you an update....

Firstly, he is utterly overwhelmed by the outpouring of love
and support from all of you Warriors.

He is a down to earth humble person and is not a man to launder
his washing out in the open. But I'm going to take the liberty
of sharing some of the hardship he has endured....

I can tell you that he has been through an incredibly difficult
time. He was in hospital 14 times last year and 8 times this
year alone. He battles to breathe and this impacts on his heart
which in turn impacts on his lungs. He also has a severe problem
with his spine which the doctors don't want to operate on. This
means he can only sit at a computer for about 25 minutes at a
time. This makes it very difficult to be productive.

BUT, despite all that, Michael was in good spirits and has a
very positive outlook on life. We chatted about the state of
the Internet and it's amazing how much the Internet has changed
and yet how much it has stayed the same......

It's fascinating talking to someone who has been around on the
Internet for as long as he has - I mean I've still got to learn
what he has already forgotten...

In terms of the way forward:

* it looks pretty definite that Michael's family will be moving
to Cape Town and hopefully the sea air has a positive impact
on his breathing.....
* please continue to lift Michael up in your prayers. he needs
a breakthrough on a number of fronts...

I will definitely visit with Michael again shortly and give you
a further update then.

Regards

Greg

Thank you VERY much for the news/update Greg..

You are blessed for making the bridge... it's good for us all to stay connected in some way so we know how Michael is doing, it is understandable that he wouldn't be at the forum so for this I thank you massively..

Please give him my regards and my and my family's prayers are for Michael at this time..

    Peace

      Pleasure Jay,

It was my privilege to visit Michael on behalf of all the Warriors.....I
don't know if you get what I mean? I'm absolutely convinced that
all of you would've visited him if you could.....so I'm just
filling in for all of you....

I will extend your good wishes to him....

      All the best..
      Regards

        Hey Shannon,

Your continued prayer for Michael is much appreciated...

        Jeremy,

I've only known Michael for about a year and mostly via telephone
but you're right he is one of the stalwarts here at the forum.

What a lot of people don't know is that both he and his wife
work amongst underprivileged children.....that's despite his
        medical condition.....

        Regards

Greg, I knew Michael wasn't well but I had no idea to what degree. Please
let him know that my prayers are with him and if he ever needs anything (I
mean this) to drop me an email. Lots of people say stuff like that, but when
I say it, I mean it. I know what it's like to not be 100%. I'll leave it at that.

Thanks for the update, and yes, let's hope the change in scenery helps.

            Hey Steven,

When you're young you think you're invincible and that nothing
will ever harm you.......then you get a bit older and all those
crazy things you did as a youngster start taking a toll on your body.

It's only when you have suffered yourself that you can begin
to get a glimpse of what someone is going through when they get
seriously disabled or suffer some serious illness.

            Regards

I am continually humbled and encouraged by the triumph of the human spirit. Hearing what Michael is going through and how he contributes to a better world in spite of his handicaps is inspiring. God bless him.

The outpouring of love shown here on this forum is also inspiring and moving. Integrity, compassion, and generosity aren't on the endangered list these days; they're alive and well here.

      Hey all,

Thanks for all the responses......it's amazing to see how many
      people care isn't it...

Michael's situation is going to need a lot of sustained prayer
      - now don't get me wrong, I'm not ruling out God doing something
miraculous for Michael at all. I'm reminded of that scripture:

"The fervent prayer of a righteous man/woman availeth much...."

      Have a great day....

Good Job Greg! It's always good to hear about Michael.

What many don't know is he has other health issues that make it even harder for him then what is stated but he just keeps going and tries his best to do what he has to do.

Michael and I teased each other last year about who was going to be in the hospital the most....Michael won, I'm sorry to say but I was a close second LOL

What amazes me about Michael is his heart. No, not, that he has heart problems like he does but the heart that keeps on giving....to us here at the forum, to the kids in his life that he helps tremendously and to his family and friends.

I'm almost 60 years old, in a year or two, and not sure I have met anyone close to Michael in heart, from what I know about Michael, all I can say is he is one of a kind!

Sorry to hear that you have also been unwell....

    Greg,

Thanks so much for the update. I remember reading a post about his problems last winter, and haven't been around the forum to much since then, if you hadn't made this post, I wouldn't know to keep him and his family in my prayers.

As others have mentioned above, he was, is and has been a mainstay at this forum for as long as I can remember.
