Some time ago I had someone set up a Wordpress blog for me
and they sent me the domain and admin panel info, but I didn't use it. I now wish to use this blog, but would like to use a different domain, and also I don't know where it was hosted
as I can't locate who made it.
Is it possible to get a new domain and forward it to
the domain they gave me, and then if I host the new domain on my host account would
that work? Or what can I do? Thanks so much.

    Hey,

So, were you using the online version of Wordpress? Or was this a personal domain?

If it was the online version, don't think they support redirection, but there is software out there that will upload it to your personal site for you.

If it's self hosted, and you have the domain name, you can do a quick google search to find out which host it is with.

You will need to point the domain to the nameservers of the host where the site is at. If you don't know what host it is, that will be difficult, but you can probably find out who the host is at ▷▷ Who-hosts.com : Easily find out who hosts a web site.

Once the domain nameservers are changed, you will need to go into the database and change the urls to the new domain. If you are unfamiliar with this, you should probably hire someone to do this.

You said it was a Wordpress blog. They have a database connected to them. You can find the database name in the wp-config.php file in the root directory. You would then use phpMyadmin to access that database domainingdiva.com/transfer.pdf has a section in there that explains changing the url.
