How can I bring life back to my list of 3,000 subscribers?-I need your help....

Hello fellow warriors,

I am banging my head against a brick wall. I have a list of just over 3,000 subscribers in a particular hot niche. Unfortunately, I neglected my list for a while (not sending them any content or updates) and as a result lost touch.

Now I finally have some very valuablel content to give them and am hoping to convert some of them into buyers, but they are mostly non-responsive.

Whenever, I send out a broadcast message/e-mail to the list I get at most a 10% open rate and an even lower click rate.

I am sure many of you have been there.

My question is how can I re-ignite this list? What is the best way to get them to open my e-mail? I really want them to view my content as it is great and I have a feeling it will draw them back in.

I would appreciate any suggestions. Also any suggestions on a good SUBJECT LINE would be very useful.

Thanks,

Mark

Rebuild your reputation as an expert in whatever you were doing.

Remember to be consistant and give away small chunks of valuable information first.

You can slowly start sending out low cost promos, but make sure you send them to QUALITY pages that deliver on the promises.

You should also send a reminder to let them know that they signed up themselves when you get back in touch. People will sign up and completely forget.

As well as that, you could resend the download link to "make sure" that everyone got what they signed up for.

In my opinion, curiousity headlines are the best. We don't know what niche your in so we can't tell you what works and what doesn't.

Make some catchy headlines or put out a free offer. Make it almost impossible to ignore on your list of emails. Write a nice report or make a video that can bring your subscribers back in.

    Hello,
if you really want to get their attention and they are worth a lot to you, I would send them one dollar each if they respond back to you with their paypal information.
When they respond back you know that they want to be active on your list, after all of this you can send a super offer and you will make your money back.

    Something new soon.

Hi Lou- This is unique. Have you actually tried this? Did you give you an ROI?

    • Hi

My thoughts on this matches a number of others here. I think if you have "lost touch" with your list, you will need to in effect start again. Start wooing them back with the odd free gift, useful information and then start introducing lower cost offers that represent great value.

I'm a great believer that the best marketers use relationships to sell. In the real world if we loose touch with someone, if we wanted to restart that relationship we would start slowly and build back up to where we once were. I believe it is the same in the arena of marketing.

I wish you all the best with your relationship rebuild

      regards

hmmm...how about sending them an updated email titled
"I am sorry for not being here lately. Here's Why"
    what about that?
then you may write a high quality content as "the reason" why you can not keep in touch with them lately.

  • Thanks guys for your useful tips. So the main theme I am getting is to give away quality content to re-build that relationship.

If you have any ideas with the SUBJECT HEADLINE that would be great. My niche is attraction/dating/seduction

    Hey Mark,

Looks like your open rate is suffering bcuz of the subject lines and also bcuz of the lack on contact.

I would suggest really CRAZY headlines that shock them (pattern interrupt) and induce them to open your emails and read them. I can't give you specific examples as i dont know which niche you're in. But certain general ones i've used with great success are "OMG i feel like a fool..." and "Screw the headline. I'm sick of coming up with fresh headlines all the time...".. general thing to keep in mind is to have sth out of the world.

As for warming up your list and making them recepetive to you again, you have to do some form of a mini-lauch (use stories and lots of free great content).

Create like an "event" or sth (like your friend just got married and it got you thinking...) as a reason for suddenly contacting them and giving them all this free stuff. Tell stories that convey messages and values in every email, and give them good content by drip-feeding it to them. Eventually offer them the final product, and they'll already be hyped up to buy as you have pre-warmed them already.

    Works like a charm

    Hope this helps!

      Hi Mark,

Here's what I suggest. Think of 4 or 5 things you can give to your subscribers. They don't have to be huge like a 20 page report or a 30 min video. Just something entertaining, short and can be used to solve a problem.

If you find a cool YouTube video that is related to your niche, then use that.

Create 4 or 5 emails for each of these valuable freebies.

Then work on kick-butt headlines for each of the emails. Test by placing their names in the subject line and without.

Send around 2 emails per week. If you use aWeber, send a few more emails to the people who have not opened your emails by changing the subject title.

Bonus Tip: Get your subscribers to download or view the freebie at your blog or website. This may make them browse around and check out your other stuff and thus creating a better relationship.

      Best of luck!

be honest and write them, that you have not have the time to send information, but now you have and you are going to support them with very valuable content.

Maybe you could write the headline: I'm sorry about our realationship, but I want to...
    ... improve it.

And then a special information or offer.

    Good luck ;-)

Spend some time giving them 2 mails of really good free content and you will have an easy time to sell your existing content to them

It doesn´t have to be much but just make sure that they appreciate it, google around and you will find good and free content to give to them.

    Good luck!

I like the idea of letting them know why you have not been around much lately, and then working to rebuild the relationship.

The relationship is what it's all about.

    Provide them with quality content.

Don't fall into that pit that a lot of gurus seem to be falling into lately. I'm sure you've noticed this with certain gurus. They pitch each others' products so much as affiliates that you dread seeing their messages in your in-box. I have unsubscribed from several big-name gurus for that very reason.

Put in the 'subject' line that you will send a $50 to their Paypal address if they are the first 20 to respond. Tell them you will offer more dollars over the months and it will be in the email somewhere - so open it when you get one!

Send them an email with a free offer.

Have a subject line like "I'm Back With A FREE & EXCLUSIVE Offer!".

Something that acknowledges your absence and makes up for it as well.

I had the same issue recently (about six months of no communication). I sent a free report that was filled with content but also is helping take the list in a direction I'm heading.
