I have a question about this, I saw many product sales letter out there come with 100% guarantee .

is it a 60 days guarantee need?

why?

can any one here discuss your answer & the reason ?

    I would like to know this as well. My next product that comes out will have no guarantee and a good explanation of why there is no guarantee. I'll test that together with a guarantee and see what happens.

    The general consensus, from many, many tests on the subject, is that the longer the guarantee the better the conversion.

    60 Days is better than 30 days (in results) ... 180 days is better than 60 days... etc.

    Though test it yourself of course for your specific offer(s)

      I mean if the longer days for guarantee,will bring more conversion,

      how about the refund rate ?

      also

      If there is no 100% of XXdays guarantee money back. for the product,
      there will no need to worry about the refund issue, but the conversion of sales will be effect to low at the 1st place.

    60 days guarantee is way too long to try the product-- why not go for 30 days? Then explain to them on your terms during sign-up.

      Exactly the wrong overall approach, actually.

      Generally, giving a longer guarantee period both increases conversions and reduces guarantee claims. One of the problems some professional vendors have over using Clickbank is that it limits the Clickbank-backed-guarantee to a standard 60 days only.

      For 30 days, people will remember: that creates some "urgency" about claiming on a guarantee, which is exactly what a vendor wants to avoid.

      I've seen several instances where changing clients' sales copy simply by extending the guarantee period from 60 days (or whatever) to 1 year or 2 years increases conversions markedly (and without increasing the proportion of guarantee claims, or even while reducing it).

      Many things in internet marketing are a little counter-intuitive!

        Alexa is right.

        Back before I had a merchant account (which doesn't allow longer than 90 days), I would give lifetime guarantee's.

        My refund rates where lower and they converted better overall.

        Sadly, I can no longer do that when I have the option to pay via credit card. Instead, I have to do more unique things, like double your money back, etc.

    Many info-products are sold through Clickbank, who impose a mandatory 8-week guarantee.

    Offering a guarantee is all about risk-reversal for the prospect - making her feel that there's no danger of her getting a crap product, being scammed, losing her money and looking like a fool in front of her friends. Also, the bolder your guarantee, the more confidence you show in your product.

    I've seen some info-marketers NOT offer a guarantee, and give a strong reason why they're not offering it. But they've done this in a way that nonetheless ties in to the sales process - so it's not that they just haven't offered one without explanation. They've always spun the lack of guarantee into another selling point.

    (Most commonly, the "you've got to be sure you want this" angle.)

    It's also important to note that while, yes, you may have a higher refund rate the sales you make will surpass any additional refunds.

    This is a broad statement that may or may not apply to your situation, again testing will tell.

    But stats do show that the longer the guarantee, the better the results. I've heard Jeff Paul talk about it, and I know Dan Kennedy has tested the same things. Drew Eric Whitman also mentions it I believe in his book Ca$hvertising.

    I tighter period causes it to be at the forefront of people's minds. If you give them a year or more they feel far more confident. Far more confident in your confidence that your product or service does what it says it does.

    It lessens fears.

    The best story I can think of was the "return the jar empty for a full refund years later" (or something like that) guarantee that yielded great results.

    More refunds? Sure.

    More sales over and above the refunds? In most cases.

    EDIT: I just saw above in Rob's post that you may very well see lower refunds as well.

    It's healthy for your conversions to provide a solid guarantee
    for anyone who purchases your product. Why? Because at the
    end of the day, the prospect is afraid to look like a total dumbass
    if he gets ripped off.

    That is why giving him a 30 day trial period or a chance to get
    his money back no questions asks calms that fear and takes
    him one step closer to making a decision to purchase.

    Why is a 60 day guarantee better?

    Simple. It shows that you're absolutely confident in your
    product and that it is going to produce value for your
    clients. And it's a long enough period for him not be
    strained by a time frame in testing it out and seeing if it really works.

    Another great guarantee method is Risk Reversal, where instead
    of increasing the 30 days guarantee to 60 days, instead, you're
    promising to not only give your client his money back, but in addition
    pay him another $$$ just for giving it his best shot.

    The letter is by far the most effective method of saying: "THIS WORKS"
    and proof for that is Mo Latif' latest launch where he promises
    to give you $500 if you try his traffic generation method and it really doesn't work for you...
