Facebook Ads - From Being Frustrated to Pure joy

Just a few short weeks ago i was frustrated with Facebook when they dissapproved my Ad that was running successfully for a week.

Reason for disapproving was that we were not allowed to target both males and females for a dating/matrimonial site.

Disgruntled we set up a new campaign yesterday, one targeting females and one targeting males.

WOW - i am shocked at our results.

In 24 hours we have had 528,485 Imps, 225 Clicks and spent £27.78. This has resulted in 23 new members joining our membership site.

What a fantastic return. I'm in love with FB again

Facebook Ads in my opinion are so targetted and with the right offer and target audience anyone can make a fantastic return.

It is so simple and easy to set up, tweak and test that you really don't need to pay for any course out there to learn how to profit from it.

Yep, the 10% conversion has kinda shocked me to but it has only been 1 day. The ad will be running for a week initially.

    That's an awesome result Riz!

I've recently had my Adwords account suspended (surprise, surprise!) and I'm planning on testing Facebook advertising. Any suggestions or pointers for setting up campaigns there?

Did you figure it all out yourself, or did you follow a specific guide to get the basics down?

Are you paying cpm or cpc?

Your ctr is bad. How are you getting 0.12 clicks lol

    Are you targeting scotland?

What do you think about false impressions / clicks? Do you think facebook is guilty of that?

Sorry to hear about your Adwords account being suspended. Definately test FB Ads, they are worth pursuing. Works slightly differently to Adwords.

I never followed any specific course. It was as simple as naming the campaign, entering the destination url, writing a title, ad text and uploading an image.

Then selecting target countries, demographics, targeting users with specific Likes and Interest and then selecting how much i want to pay per click using FB's suggestion.

It really was as simple as that. It will now come down to testing different text, titles, like groups etc.

I really don't think anyone with half a brain needs a course on this

Keep trying, something will stick if you are following the rules.

I am paying cpc. I am not only targeting Scotland. I am targeting UK, USA and UAE.

I'm not sure if my ctr is bad. I don't have any stats to compare it against. I would however definately expect the ctr to be low on FB as compared to other PPC engines. FB is a place where people go to interact, not look for services/products/info like they may do on search engines.

In saying that although the ctr is low my conversions are fantastic at 10%.

£0.12 per click seems low. Google suggested £0.25 per click but are only charging an average of £0.12.

The bizarre thing is i have 2 campaigns running with the only difference being that one targets males and the other targets females. The male campaign averages £0.17 per click and the females average £0.09 per click. I'm still trying to figure that one out

I would definately recommend a test run

I highly doubt FB is guilty of foul play.

No, i am not using a squeeze page. It goes straight to the Home page which we have tested to convert well.

Riz sorry to hear about your problems with Facebook Ads.

On average how much money are you spending a day on Facebook?

They have a very strict procedure for Ads.

Thanks Riz, that's exactly what I wanted to hear! I've been procrastinating on this for the past week but you've given me the inspiration to get a test campaign up tonight!

£0.12 doesn't sound too bad. I was getting a great ROI on £0.08 through Adwords, anything under about £0.20 with a similar conversion rate on FB would still be quite profitable. If I can get close to your figures in a similar timeframe I'll be very happy

At the moment i have it set at £30 per day. £15 per day for the Ad for males and £15 per day for the Ad for females.

Total spend for day 1 of the 2 campaigns was £19.38 so my daily budget was not even exhausted.

I'll have a better idea of how the Ads perform after they have been running for a while before i decide to ramp up the campaign.

Just keep resubmitting those ads and eventually they would go through if you aren't running anything shady!

sometimes, on facebook.. the reps would just decline your ads.. and you just have to contact them and hopefully another rep will answer and will approve your ads (annoying I know).

Thats great Riz. I know Facebook can be tough on getting ads approved. You being in the dating niche, check out Plenty of Fish as well for advertising.
