How much should I pay moderators

How much should I pay moderators on my forum. Does anyone have any experience with this? I don't have a clue where to start.

£5000 per day. When do I start?

Seriously though, depending on your niche, you may find that people will volunteer for this role. My friend Pete runs blackcountrygob.com, and his moderators are responsible members of the community who do it for the fun of it. It's a local community forum.

Hey i would defiantly be a forum moderator if i got paid.

But i think a forum moderator should get paid on how much the website is actually making but i would say the moderator should be paid maybe 2-5 dollars an hour cause its not like its a "real" job you dont actually have to do anything but read.

But i also have to say if the moderator has been on a website for a couple of months and is doing great and then website is doing well because of a moderator they should get paid more

If your looking for a moderator pm i have tons of free time

I know that at least one large 'social' site which includes a forum, pays it's moderators by offering them discounts or free access to some of the paid products they have on offer. They don't specifically 'advertise' the job, rather waiting to see which members seem to be naturally more involved in the forum than others & which ones have their heads screwed on the right way , then offering them the job.

I think a few hundred or more a month would be fair, it just depends how involved the moderators are. If it's just removing vulgar posts and editing stuff, I wouldn't think it would take too much time.

Any chance of seeing your forum?

At least that would enable any potential applicant as a moderator to make an informed decision whether or not to apply.

If the link has already been posted then I apologise for over looking it.

      Regards,
      Jeff Henshaw.

      Howdy

It would depend upon the forum, how busy is it, how much work...etc. If you are just starting out maybe just offering your product if your forum is based on a product you offer. Someone who will do a lot of posting can be a big help to building up the forums following.

If your forum is a busy one you might find someone to moderate it for the chance to do some free advertising on it. I have been a member of forums where there was a lot of traffic, but not a lot of controversy where the moderator only had to delete a few spam posts, and maybe move others to the proper place.

If your forum has the traffic of say a Warriors Forum....Good Luck
