Newbie blogger seeking help

I found a niche and built a decent blog with a few unique articles to start with. I'm planning to write an article a day for my blog. Now, I need advices/tips from my fellow warriors to promote it.

Can you please throw your inputs to promote my blog? It'd be great if you could help me with resources too like "tools to find dofollow blogs" and similar things.

Thanks in advance

1 Article related to your blog in some popular directories will do help to drive traffic. Other than that comment on other blogs in your niche. This will help get some start.

        "tools to find dofollow blogs"
Below is a link to a great Firefox add on, I use it all the time. Basically if you right click on any web page, in the menu there is a "no do follow" option, if you check it, it will highlight all links on a page, red for no follow and blue for do follow. Easiest way I've found to verify my links.

        Firefox "No Do Follow" Extension

Also I use the google toolbar, and have the page rank tool enabled. It allows me to quickly identify page rank of directories, social sites, feed sites, article directories, etc.....you get the point. Two invaluable tools in my opinion.

Comment Kahuna is free and it is a very good tool to find do-follow blogs.

Give social status updates including the url to your website. If you are having huge freind's list then some them will surely land up to your site...

Another way is to hire people who have large followers in twitter. They can tweet about your site everyday. This is another way to get traffic.

Submitting it to directories will help search engines to find your site.

Videos -- Pick a keyword with good relevance to your blog, high search volume and make a video about it. Get it onto Youtube - It's really not difficult to get a good ranking. Branding to get traffic back to your blog. Videos are easy, and there's so much online that you can use to get your video created, you don't even need software on your PC.

Twitter -- No excuse to not have a Twitter account in this day and age, so easy to get traffic. Follow an authority figure in your niche and follow their followers - you will get people following you back.

Press Releases -- Can be a tough one to get right, but when you do, the traffic is immense. Create something newsworthy for your blog (maybe you've done some market research etc) and get it out there. Honestly, if I had to pick one traffic method to stick with for the long term, this would be it.

    Hope this helps.

    joint ventures
    social media - facebook, twitter
article marketing - article directories like ezine etc
video markting - using video syndication like tube mogul or traffic geyser

    Updates

    1. I didn't like Comment Kahuna after working with it...
    2. Created accounts in web 2.0 sites and updated them with my posts + link to my site after reading about LinkWheel (Somebody please explain me how to get traffic from those 2.0 sites)

@Alaister: Blog commenting, couldn't find the DoFollow blogs for my niche. The major niche is: Health. Shall I go with health related blogs?

Checked your signature, registered and going through the modules.

@Everyone: How should I do article marketing? Rewrite a single article 100 times to submit them to 100 directories?

@ Thread: Keep pouring inputs please.. I'll be updating my moves here

First of all, it's hard to give you some really solid advice without knowing how you're monetizing the blog. Are you promoting affiliate products? CPA? Adsense?

The reason for the above comment is that promotion methods can vary depending on who you're targeting and how your visitors are going to make you money.

I'm a 'niche' blogger and target Adsense clicks and in some niches affiliate offers/CPA. It depends on the niche and also on the keywords. For example, on a 'weight loss' niche blog I have I target adsense mainly and have some secondary income from affiliate products. However on another niche blog related to a very tight job seeker market I'm ONLY targeting Adsense.

The difference between monetization methods relates to your audience. See, my job seeker audience aren't looking to buy anything. They just want information and so they come to my blog read a little than occasionally see an ad for a big job site or a related education course provider and they click that to go and have a browse somewhere else.

Understanding article marketing can be a powerful marketing skill. But there are two sides the the article marketing coin you need to understand. First, the leverage you get from article marketing is that you are getting content onto a site that can rank for certain keywords you couldn't rank for with a new site. You might also get a little traffic from people who just browse the site itself - particularly EZA.

In essence, you are using your article in this sense as a funnel to drive traffic to your site. This works best for sites you don't expect to ever get ranked for much in the search engines yourself - sites like squeeze pages and sales pages.

Seeing you're a blogger, you would expect to be able to optimize your posts to get search engine traffic yourself. Doing a lot of article marketing could actually hurt you in this case because you could end up with articles that are ranking higher than your own posts and you'll be missing out on traffic because most of the visitors to the article won't click through to your blog. You have to be careful with article marketing here and make sure you are not targeting the same keywords in the article title and text you want to rank for on your post. Just use the article as a backlinking method.

As for promotional tools, you're probably referring to backlinking tools?

So what you want are sites that give you the most leverage in terms of backlinks obtained from the least effort, like writing and spinning articles. It also depends on how much you want to spend and if you want to buy some software upfront or subscribe on a monthly basis.

Some ideas might be Unique Article Wizard, Submit Your Article, Article Submitter Platinum, or The Instant Article Submitter. But there are a LOT more options available.

For dofollow blogs I highly recommend DoFollowPro.com. This doesn't just show you whether a blog is DoFollow, it lists hundreds of internal blog pages with high PR that you can comment on and get a really good backlink, not just another ordinary one. It costs $60 for 3 months, but it's been invaluable for me.

    Good luck mate!

@James: That's really a very helpful response by you.

    1. I'm running Adsense + promoting a couple of CJ products related to my niche. This niche is very particular and hence I can't find any CPA offers for that. So, please suggest me promotional methods accordingly

    2. I'm planning not to get into the Article Marketing as I don't have much knowledge about it. If you're gonna suggest this for me, then please explain the basics. And no, I don't have any squeeze page but the keywords hyperlinked with my affiliate links

    3. I'll look into the tool you've suggested. However, I'd appreciate if you can suggest me a site/free tool to start with. I've been a freelancer and got no savings in my account atm. The only thing I can invest is, 40 to 50 hours a week (including weekends)
