Rapbank Instant Commissions Or Clickbank Your Choice?

I am using all three Rapbank which is an instant affiliate commission network, Payspree which is the second instant affiliate commission network. ( They pay you by Paypal for you newbies out there) And good old Clickbank the king of all affiliate programs.

I like the instant commissions involved with the first two no waiting time your instantl payed through Paypal. Clickbank you have too wait two weeks before you get a check which is not that big of a deal to me because they are a top notch affiliate network who I mostly use...

I am combining all three of these networks its always good not to put all your eggs in one basket and it seems to be working great for me.

What are your thoughts? Who is your favorite and why?

Thanks for the Payspree. I hadn't heard of them and checked them out. They offer something I've been looking seeking for a long time.

Plus, there's still some great user names left. Since these become part of your affiliate link, you can add something that may enhance sales, such as:
    http://payspree.com/0000/discount

just fyi - RAP Bank since launch has allowed you to customize your urls, either using they're automatic one-click url creator... which takes the product title and hyphenates it (for seo) and places it on the backend of your referring url - like this:

      --------------------------
I apologize in advance for the promo link... but using as illustrative purposes only as it's an actual product on RAP Bank that you can confirm and check for yourselves if you have an account there.
      --------------------------

      Product Title:
      SecureDL 2 Go

      Product Description:
Secures s3 and non-s3 download links, blah - blah - blah
(this isn't a promo on WP but an example you can visually see and apply)

      Assuming the following:

      product id: 455

affiliate id for links: 4 (mine... for illustration purposes only)
(not a username... cuz this is obvious in most cases for hijacking links... ie. clickbank's biggest issue right now...)

      Affiliate Links become:

      [standard generic affiliate link]
      Code:
      http://rapbank.com/go/455/4
[advanced] - adding *anything beyond the [standard]+"/"

(RAP Bank automatically suggests extensions based on title, and keyword/tags)

      Code:
      http://rapbank.com/go/455/4/securedl-2-go.html
      http://rapbank.com/go/455/4/SecureDL-2-Go.html

I really appreciate CB for its tracking system, simple and good. They must have about a 1000 times more products than Rapbank.

But I'm a bit biased towards rap products. The instant commission system means you just get an email when you make a sale. Don't even have to log into an account. My first break came from a RAP product.

When I'm looking for products to match a new page, I do usually check Rapbank first. But often enough there isn't much there in the niche I'm working on now, so I wind up at CB anyway.

At least those 2 both have positives. And after Kurt's comment, I'll check out payspree.

      Hey Lloyd,

Payspree doesn't have that many products at this time, but they do have some.

Payspree is more like RAP and CB had a baby...You create links from a central marketplace like CB, but all the products pay instant RAP/$7 secrets style instant payment. Payspree also has reoccuring subscriptions.

I like it because it's 3rd party so it should be fair to both sides.

Yeah Payspree is cool I just stumbled across them in the last week or so .... I am finding more and more the lower end products 5 to 10 dollars sell a lot more than the high end ones without the refunds. Of course you have to sell more to make up for it, but they are making a good number of sales, and no refunds. You got to love that!

I haven't heard about Payspree.. Thanks for sharing. Another network that pays through Paypal is click2sell.eu Got decent number of products but of course nothing when compared to Clickbank.

I have a question regarding Rapbak, how do you search for products to promote? Is it just by looking at index value of the product? Somehow I find that searching products to promote on RapBank is tedious unless there is a method that I don't know of.

FYI I have not upgraded to VendorPlus.

Jay, how does Payspree compare with RAPbank? One thing I like about RAPbank is that I've seen an increasing number of products offer 100% commission on the front end - I've taken a look at some of their sales pages, and they actually look pretty good and should convert quite well, especially for a low-ticket product.

I like Rapbank better than Payspree as of now but down the road who knows. One thing I noticed about Payspree is they do not have any marketing materials banners, swipes, etc... Where Rapbank does.

I still prefer Clickbank. You can make so much more, and even if you don't get instant commissions, a week really isn't that long to wait to get paid. This is of course assuming that you've gotten your first few checks and opted for weekly payments via direct deposit. But even so, trust me, it's worth the trouble.

PaySpree and RAPBank are ok for IM related products, but anything non-IM like health related eBooks, etc. I don't think it's worth bothering with, but to each his own. Who doesn't love the idea of instant commissions?

I just found payspree the other day . . . I actually signed up to promote a free report of another warrior that offered 100% commission on OTO. I was happy to find this site as I've been thinking of offering sonmething similar myself.

Also, I've been hearing about RAP bank and I like the instant pay possibilities. After reading this thread I have decided to sign up and browse through some products.

Thanks for the tips guys and thanks for the thread Jay

I'm getting set up on RAP this week for some of my info products. I waited way too long! This system rocks! I love being able to give affiliates instant payments without the tax paperwork. I've used CB as an affiliate but not yet as a vendor. I'll probably do both eventually, but meanwhile the lure of RAP and RAPBank is strong.

      Yes...That's why I like it.

But I have to add that I haven't actually tried it and don't know if it "works", but the setup and features are great, and they do offer the ability to set up subscriptions and use the Paypal IPN.

Sweeeet... thanks for that info. Will definitely explore in greater detail.

Ok, now dumb question: Does PayPal still take a cut when payspree deposits the dosh?

I have been using paydotcom due to it's ease of use and affiliate program, but paying $3 per trans, plus PayPal fees.

        Cheers.

I've never understood the refund process with RAP. So lets says I generate a sale through rap and that person wants a refund, it's the affiliate that has to give the refund correct? It would seem logical right ?

It depends who got paid for that sale. The vendor refunds if that sale was credited to the vendor, the affiliate if the affiliate got the money for it.

Then RAP takes that into account when it credits the next sale. It doesn't count that as a sale. I think that part of the system is really nice.

    Here's Payspree's fees for sellers.

It's free for you to add one product. If you want more than one product, it's a $29 one time fee for "onetime PREMIER account activation", which allows you to list an "unlimited" number of products.

After that, each sale may have a fee:
    FREE Up to $4.99
    $1 $5 to $19.99
    $2 $20 and above

Considering payment is made directly, if you have commisions set to 50%, you only pay the fee on half the sales.

And because affiliates are paid directly, you don't have to use Paypal Masspay, which saves more fees and hassles, including IRS 1099s.

Thanks Kurt. Their fees are more competitive than Paydotcom. That's for sure. It all adds up.

      And sure beats using messpay.

The only challenge now is if they allow a fixed $ payout as opposed to %.

I really like Rap Bank. Instant pay commissions rule. Although waiting a couple weeks for a check isn't so bad as long as you know its coming.

But what I can't figure out is why none of the giant internet marketers aren't using something like Rap Bank for their product launches. It seems like they would entice many more affiliates and therefor, many more sales if they could offer instant affiliate commissions.

I would even love to see a split test of the same product with the different payout options and see which does the best.

The Upsell network is coming soon, so maybe we'll see if a super guru like Mike Filsame will bring in the big dogs.

Would you spend loads of money with such vague money back guarantees as with RAP.

Loads of refund issues. Doesn't matter so much when products are cheap, but.....

The more marketers use RAP, the more refund issues, the more people only will buy high priced items through Clickbank.

        See my post above.

There is no trust issues with rapbank. The script pays the affiliate, directly to their paypal address, so there is no way you can rip affiliates off.

You would actually have to outright lie on your affiliate page (saying you give commissions when you don't) or you would have to get into the script and recode it by hand.

If you did that, you would quickly ruin your chances with many affiliates and you wouldn't grow. It just isn't smart.

The way the system is set up, its is actually MORE trustworthy than clickbank. There is no way an affiliate can't be paid.

If clickbank goes belly up right now, you may have lost thousands of commissions waiting to be paid. This wouldn't be true with rapbank or product owner that uses RAP as a payment method.

These are great questions. There are pluses and minuses to both RAP and Clickbank.

What's important to understand is that affiliate traffic is viral traffic. And for viral traffic to work, you have to give people an incentive. Just offering a commission or listing on Clickbank is NOT enough.

And for a lot of new affiliates, they just don't believe that this "affiliate thing" works.

For a lot of new product owners, they can't compete to get the best affiliates who like to promote "guru products" or go with the CPA network.

But they CAN offer instant commissions which is great.

There's much more I could say, but if you are interested in these issues, tonight's a great time to get your questions answered!!

        Cautious is good

I read a page by Sid a couple of years ago about the affiliate refund issue. He said at that point he had only had one affiliate in the whole system who had refused to refund. He covered the refund himself, banned the affiliate from the whole program.

Edit: This wasn't an affiliate of his personally. It was just an affiliate of someone using the rap system.

It is about the most trustworthy system I can imagine. From the affiliate point of view, the vendor never touches the money. No 'the check's in the mail' stuff is possible.

One part of rap that seems weak to me is tracking. I understand there is a plug in that will do the job, but don't know the details. Of course that would have to be done by the vendor.

        CB tracking is amazing.

You put in your terms that the affiliate is responsible for the refund. If they refuse to refund (or neglect to do so after so many days), you can permanently ban their paypal account from future promotions.

You need to make that perfectly clear right from the get go that they are responsible for refunds and by refusing to do so, they will be banned from promoting.

RAPBank seems to have become pretty popular recently and it is starting to carry a fairly wide array of products; I'd not be surprised at all to see more vendors and affiliates flocking to it in the coming months. The instant commissions are pretty attractive to many affiliates, and there are even some products that pay 100% on the front end with an upsell on the back end that the affiliate also gets paid on.

Thats what I usually look for the 100% front end products. And the refunds it seems are a lot less than Clickbank even though I still love Clickbank

It seems everyone and their mom knows about Clickbanks 60 day refund policy and they use it too often taking advantage of the system. With Rapbank you cannot order through your own affiliate link because you will be logging into your own account the sellers account or you the affiliate.

This cuts down on affiliates ordering through their own link if its through Paypal.

People have come acustom to CB, being secure, payments calculated well and tracking is great, so imo, CB is the only affiliate network that i choose to use.

CB have been great to me, and still contiue to be great, and is also great to its consumers and vendors alike, therefore, i see no reason to go elsewhere as of yet. Their variety of products in different niches are top quality, payments on time, and i kind of like getting a check every 2 weeks, means i get a nice bulk of cash and i can think about how im going to reinvest etc.
If i got instant commissions, i would end up buying trainers etc haha

I can't think of anything faster than the instant affiliate commissions paid out through Payspree and Rapbank, so if you're looking for quick payouts, these two should be on your shortlist.

Do rapbank do serious sale volume?
Is there a way to know product x has sold 40 000 copies in a month?
Or is it clickbank then light years behind rapbank?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Andrew, RAPbank is starting to gain popularity, and there are some products that are already selling well there, but obviously you won't see really huge product launches on there just yet as they're still relatively new in the marketplace. I wouldn't be surprised if RAPbank starts selling a lot more products this year as more and more affiliates start learning about it.

I personally like Rapbank better than clickbank. Never tried Payspree. Never made nothing from Clickbank.

Don't have the time to write emails that will get opened, read and your reader to take action then leave me a message. I will get back to you within 48 hrs.

  • I like Clickbank, because they do everything for you, including paying your affiliates and dealing with refunds.

I'll gladly give up some lost income for the sake of convenience.

I only use clickbank right now. I have an account with rapbank and Payspree but I haven't used them yet, the paypal payment option is pretty convenient than checks from Clickbank though.

I like the fact that Rapbank is diversifying and has been getting lots of new products recently (and they're fleshing out their marketplace so that it's much more than IM products, just like Clickbank). I haven't bought any Rapbank products myself, but the overall quality of the sales pages and offers (from quickly glancing at them) seems to be improving by a lot recently.
