Somebody reported me that one of my sites is showing a hacked message. When I checked out my site it indeed is. Somebody hacked my site and put their stuff in my site with the hacked message - http://www.thesiddhaway.com/

I am still able to login to the ftp, don't know what to do. Please guide.

Thanks...

May sound like an obvious answer, but if you have FTP access can't you just use your latest backup copy to restore your site to the condition it was in before you got hacked?

Yes I can, but don't know to what extent this hacker have access to. Because this site is hosted on a primary hostgator cpanel which has many of my other sites hosted. So how do I secure access to other sites. How do I know if this guy has got access to any other details?

it used to be a membership site and I was using easy member pro script in this particular site.

      Thanks...

    hackers usually add harmless code
or replace your index (homepage) file

some are nice and actually back it up
somewhere on your server ...look for it
if the homepage is totally gone now

In any case, they likely got in due
a keylogger on your computer gotten
from clicking on a link somewhere

Reformat. ( Sad but best advice )
    Oh ... change your password.

Follow Pessi's recommendation and change all your passwords immediately on all your sites. This was Host Gators recommendation to me when it happened to me. So at this time make sure you use appropriate passwords and different ones from website to website.

But contact Host Gator and ask them for a complete direction you need to take to become secure again. They will send you a lengthy list of actions to do which will take you a little bit of time. But Host Gator is really good in their support service for items like this, just do everything they say to do.

      Good luck!

Make a copy of your index file and put it into another folder, so if it's just your index file messed, you can just copy it back immediately. You will need to contact your host support though to find out how they are getting in. One way in is through an admin folder not password protected.
