Hey, I usually don't allow them if I have time in my hand. But I do when I am very busy for a couple of days. They are good and effective when guided properly.

It should not be a question of "if I would allow", it should be "who would I allow" to guest post on one of my blogs.

If Tom Venuto asked to guest post on my fitness blog you're damn right I'd let him do it.

If Allen Says dropped me a note and wanted to guest post on a IM Blog for me, I'd be so excited I would not know what to do.

If Alexa Smith, Steven Wagenheim, Allen Graves, CDarkLock-Caliban, Zeus66-John, or a handful of other people dropped me a note about guest posting on an article marketing blog, I'd probably give them my Admin password, go out and buy a bottle of good wine, and come back to see what happens....

If someone I did not know, had no reputation, and was just fishing for a place to guest post wants to guest post on my blog, I'd need to know a lot more information on why it would be a good deal for me and for them.

Got to agree with you 100%. Totally depends on what blog and what circumstances. Just guest blogging seems like a great way to reduce your work load while increasing your quality content under SOME circumstances.

I don't mind guest posts at all, but as long as they're relevant and well written. I also prefer to limit the number of guest posts, so there is more content written by myself.

I'm very picky on my 'babies' where I'm writing about things that I'm putting my personal opinions onto. But the niche blogs - heck some of them are 90% guest post content.

You are missing out on a huge opportunity when you do not allow guest posting at times.

You should work to develop relationships with other bloggers and content producers in your field who are well known and then ask them nicely to guest post on occasion for you, and offer to guest post for them.

It increases the likelihood of getting relevant links from their blogs. It creates a sense of authority in your own blog since a top figure is partnering with you. It creates more opportunities for joint ventures in the future.

Those are only the beginning to the added opportunities you will find by both guest blogging for other people, and by having quality guest bloggers on your own blogs.

On the flip side, if YOU ARE THE AUTHORITY, then guest posting on others blogs creates added opportunity for you, too. You get more backlinks, draw traffic from their sites, spread your name farther and deeper in the community.

The only danger in guest posting is if you do not stay in control of your own strategies, and keep your eyes on your goals.

I do permit guest posts on my blogs, but for a fee I also make sure what they post is of good quality or else they are no longer permitted to post again.

I'm not sure the word "guest" is really what you're going for...but maybe blog partner or something like that. I think it's a great idea to create content partnerships with others in your niche.

That's why lots of TV shows use multiple hosts, you can take a page out of their book.

By partnering with another blogger, you would get more content, different opinions and views, which would result in a more regular readership and a broader audience.

I would, however, make sure that the partnership is mutually beneficial in that they are posting to my blog at the same rate I am offering posts to theirs...and of course, be careful who you are partnering with. They don't need to be the who's who of your niche, but be sure that you know them and trust them, before you give them a position in front of your audience. (and of course, I would never give others direct access to my site...they can send me the material, and I'll do the posting).

I don't mind guest posting to my blog but I do also review them before it goes live on my blog.

I believe that a one-man-show blog/business is hard to grow fast.

I only allow this on my auto blog network, but I have two blogs are exclusively mine! I don't want anyone else writing posts on these. Auto-blogging is different though. Good luck!

Here's a guest blogging site with a twist.. aswell as the backlink you get in the article (byline and in the bio), your article goes into Google News, is picked up by a ton of other sites, and you get backlinks from Facebook and Twitter.

Guest Blogging – Submit a Guest Post

Mind you, it's only for web tech and Internet marketing type stuff. I wouldn't bother with anything other than those niches, and if you have good quality articles then you should see your stuff published.

    Great information here.

Guest bloggers can certainly boost your blog in the search engines.

For example, if you are an author and you allow a guest blogger to come along and do something like a "blog book tour," you are going to benefit from your blog having that author's name and titles.

Maybe that author's fans have no idea who you are, but by featuring that author as a guest blogger, you just exposed yourself to many more potential fans. They might begin reading your books, as well.

Well it looks like blog owners are open to guest bloggers for the most part. Personally I have 3 types of blogs.

    1. blogs just to help with SEO and feed traffic. These I would easily allow guest blogging on and would trade guest blogging posts with others doing the same types of blogs.

    2. My marketing sales blogs. These I would allow guest bloggers that can deliver high quality content posts.

    3. My personal business blogs. It would be very rare that I would allow guest blog posts on these.

Depends on the quality of the posts. In my experience, the majority of posts are garbage aimed at purely getting a backlink.

I think guest bloggers are blogging platform in which you do not need to create account you can post a comment as guest or open Id..

If the article is high quality and original I have no problem with it. I actually put a full-blown guest post submission form on my blog.

If someone has something relevant and well written they want to send me then I always consider guest posts. It depends on what you mean by guest post, ie, auto submitted or editorially viewed before publication.

I'm afraid I will not allow someone that I don't know where he or she is coming from to guest post on my blog. Why? There are more scam and spam guest blog posters than I have ever seen.

Most of them come on board and just post what you don't even understand where it's coming from. Why? They are looking for backlinks.

I do believe it is a fine line. A good quality poster that will make good quality posts for just a backlink is going to be worth gold and in high demand. On the other hand their are a ton of backlink spammers that will post garbage like you said. Need to weed them out while keeping the good ones.

I would definitely moderate posts and only post the quality on topic ones. Now I would not have a problem with trusting a guest blogger that has proven their quality to go the auto approve route.
