Changing Title on WP Theme

Hi,

At the risk of sounding very ignorant in front of all of you techies out there, I am using wordpress for the first time trial and error and I can't find how to change the title of the theme on the screen to the title of my blog.

I changed the title in settings but it doesn't show up on the site.

Any advice would be really appreciated. Believe me I googled it and tried WP tutorials etc, but now I turn to you

TIA,
Melanie

Some themes might require some edits of the code. Anyway what's the URL of your blog?

Does the theme use an image as the header? Some themes require you to edit the header image in order to get your title in there. What theme are you using?

It looks like this theme uses an image file "logo.png". You should be able to find the image file for you to edit in your image editing software, hopefully the creators of the theme included a PSD file as that will make it easier simply to switch out the theme name for the title of your blog.

Do you have the zip file of the theme on your hard drive?

Your logo file is placed in the theme's directory here: /wp-content/themes/promaroon/images/logo.png

It's created with size 314 x 68 pixels. You may just create a new image file with the above size and replace it with that logo.png.

      Hope this helps.

          Hi again,

I created a logo and sized it to fit. Now where do I go to replace it, on my FTP client?

          Sorry if this is basic.

          Thanks,
          Melanie

Yeah Melanie you need to re-upload the image onto your server here:

            /your-blog-directory/wp-content/themes/promaroon/images/logo.png

Replace that logo and you're done.

              You are very patient.

I deleted the other .png and uploaded mine.

Now there is no logo showing up.

It shows up on the ftp with all the other images....

I think I may have to give up until tomorrow.

              Thanks for all your help.

Hmm this is weird, I see nothing in http://www.combi-car-seats.com/wp-co...mages/logo.png

Are you sure you've successfully uploaded the new logo.png? Also, try uploading the new logo.png onto /your-blog-directory/images/

Melanie, make sure you named the image you made logo.png not logo.jpg, and that it's in the same place the original file was. And be sure it's the same size.
