Help! Comment about my website.

Wow! That button is mighty big. Does it really need to be that large to show the world whether you are free to take on any orders?

Your home page lacks the type of information that would persuade someone to purchase from you.

What benefits can you offer the buyer? Why should the buy choose you? You need to state this in terms of what's in it for the buyer, not you.

Where is your portfolio? Let's see some examples of your work.

The green button kind of puts me off. I also find the site a little "bland" to be promoting web design.

It's free website creation so not really buying 0.o . I will reduce the buttom size thoe, sure.

Yeah the first thing you see is that huge button Text could be a bit bigger, and that button a bit smaller.

Decreased button size, Ill see what about text. You think I should add some more color? I think it looks quite elegant now...

Is the button's color change individually or it's a general view for all visitors?

others:
- think about changing the font color to black
- adding pictures of happy faces
- renaming "Home" section to a general or money KW
- moving About and F.A.Q. to the bottom and adding TOS
- improving call to action: "Bonus" should look more attractive and it may be a shiny bright picture too.

Button is good now but the text is too big, reduce it a bit. You could try adding some color and see how it looks, after all, it is about web design.

Alright guys - thanks for all your tips, got some ideas now! Ill work on it tomorrow. Maybe pick a different theme.

Hi! Unfortunately, I did not see the previous version if you did make a big changes. But if honest, then for me this theme somehow does not go together with website designs ... It it is nice, but it more reminds me something about traveling, resting, holidays, but not in any case about the basic thing that will be offered in your site. It is just my point of view!

Even though it's free, I just feel deterred by the background image and header colors for the postings. Sometimes you only need something simple, clean, but professional looking to sway people your way.

Well my last theme was elegant and quite simple. People said it's too boring. Now you are saying this one is too colorful. >.<

I actually like the current design over the beach one you had up. Just make a nice custom title/image and that should do it.

I am a little confused by the fact that you are offering free website design, yet you can't design you own website (or wordpress theme in this case). Why not go back to the drawing board and come up with something unique that you make yourself?

You can get a program like Artisteer to create a custom wordpress template/theme, very easily. Also, I would try to make the site look more web 2.0 ish and more focuses around YOU and YOUR skills, not a generic design and some stock photos...

"Free WordPress Setup" might be more honest and convert better.

It looks fine to me, button and all and none of the constructive criticisms were really strong enough to stop me, if I were approaching as a potential customer. Not that they are wrong at all, just not enough to stop me. I don't care if you put up the hello world theme at that price. It's a bonus to go beyond that to a free theme, and the new webmaster can learn to change it later. But do they realize that, at this point?

I might want that expanded upon, (even if it is in the bonus videos I haven't yet seen), because I would need reassurance on that, even though you do have reassurance on several things. For instance where you at length talk about a way around the password issue.

Freshly approaching as the prospect I'd be trying to figure out what's the catch. That's one, and there are certainly other possible holdups to someone who does not know. You and I both know that the catches are not a big deal, actually, and all can be fixed if needed, but does the person you're addressing know that? Can I change it easily? Can I fix typos easily? Yes and yes, but they probably don't know that yet.

There are minor typos on every page, but those also would not deter me. The impression I got there was that you're a regular guy and human. And that to me, is good. Generally, that is. However I can see how when you're the guy going to build my first site, andI seethis...

Others will disagree and criticize that on the grounds of professional appearance, and that does seem valid, in this instance, because your clients would take that as a little carelessness that will happen to them too. They would be new enough to the game not to realize that they can edit those out in a minute or so, themselves. So some would be deterred. And then they are gone.

See how some from the words 'website design' wanted you to make a special theme yourself, and another suggested 'wordpress installation' would be more honest? That's not me, it seems honest to me either way, but it will be some, reacting that way. The sampling already did, so other people will, too. Would it actually be wordpress? Looks like, but is that spelled out? .com or .org? Why? What's the difference, for them?

What would stop me, cold, is simply that I already have such an account, so I don't need it. Also you tell them about the small one, but don't have a line to explain why to have a bigger hosting account, if they'd rather. Why or why not? And how much would that run them, and how hard would it be to change that? What if they were thinking of more than just one site?

Knowing what I do know, I might just click on this, but I wouldn't know what I do know, if I needed it.

Wrinkles and all, it is a clever idea, and I wish you success with it.
