16k In Two Hours And How You Can Do The Same

Here's a way that anybody with even a little bit of knowledge can make a ton of money in a very short amount of time. I'll tell you upfront, that the set up does take some work, BUT, once you've done it, you can make a ton of money over an over again from the work you did to get set up.

Here's exactly how you pull it off:

Approach a local business owner that is a family member, friend of the family or a friend of a friend. EVERYBODY knows someone who owns some kind of business somewhere through the friends and family line. If you don't, get out from behind your computer and go meet some people

You don't have to worry about trying to sell them anything because what you are going to do for them, for free, is going to help put more money in their pocket. Tell them that they are missing out on a ton of business and potential repeat business because their online marketing efforts suck (you can use terms like "leaves much to be desired" if you don't feel comfortable telling them it sucks). Tell them that you are going to generate them some business all while building a client base they can advertise to at any time without spending any money on advertisement.

You tell them you are going to do this for free for them, but in return, when you get them the results, they go to bat for you with other business owners they know. They have everything to gain and nothing to lose. All you have is a little bit of work ahead of you and everything to gain as well, so it's win win for both sides.

Fix up their website or build one if they don't have one. Put up an opt in box to collect leads and talk the owner into offering a 10% coupon to who ever opts in to the list. If a coupon doesn't fit their business, think about what will and put it there as an incentive to opt in. Write up a couple followup emails with some tips on what ever the company does and tell the subscriber in order to get the discount they need to present the printed out email.

Now go get to work on SEO for the keywords you have already looked up that pertain to that company. Don't half ass this part! Put some effort into it, because the faster you get them results as far as getting them started on building a list, the faster you're on to making money. Post on Craigslist in your area about the business, the coupon and point to their website. Grab some business cards from the owner and write "for 10% off go to www.whatever . com. What ever you can think of that might get any subscribers on that list, do it!

Make sure you install analytics on the website as well. You'll want to track everything so you can show your friend the business owner just how the traffic is finding their site. Work work work and get the site ranking for a few different things. Many local search terms are not hard to rank for, so you should be able to get a few things ranking in relatively short amount of time.

Make sure you keep up with your friend the business owner to ask them about the coupon, the phone calls, etc. Finally, pick a date and do an add blast to the customer list with some kind of good deal. Don't stress the numbers on the list, you will have already brought them some business. Just make sure you have your analytics numbers so you can show them some proof. Even if you get one person from the list to book a job or buy something, you will be a stud in the business owners eyes.

Your jobs done now and it's time to get them to live up to their end of the deal. Now this is why I said to pick a friend or family member. This way you don't have to feel like you are intruding on someone and you can really hammer them to keep their end of the deal.

See, here's the thing.

Business owners are constantly talking to each other about what they are doing in marketing. They are constantly on the lookout for new marketing things that OTHER business owners are doing that they aren't. Most of the time their conversations revolve around the size of yellow page adds or local magazine add placements and such. Very few of them really know how to work the internet and if they are using it, they are most likely paying some company like Reach Local a TON of money just to host the site, track the phone numbers and run some PPC adds for them. This is an absolute gold mine of networking.

These owners have luncheons, golf trips, organizational meetings if it's a trade type business and a number of other "get togethers" they attend. At some point, what they are doing in marketing is going to come up. They want to know what is working for them and what new stuff they are doing so they can implement it into their business. This is where your friend the business owner is pure gold for you!

When a business owner tells another business owner what they are doing that is working as far as marketing goes, there is no "guard" up. It's not like any of us going in and trying to get them to give you 5 minutes of their time so you can explain how you can help them. This is ANOTHER business owner talking to them. That business owner has NOTHING to gain from it by telling the other business owner about it. Now, the seed has been planted in that other owners mind as something that they have to look into.

At this point, this is where your friend the business owner now gives out your card and tells them this is the person who is handling it for me. They also get take a card of the interested party to give to you as a lead for you to follow up with. They are already either going to call you or they are expecting you to call them. Either way, you are in the door which is all you can ask for. From there it's up to you to close the deal, BUT

Because these business owners were told about it from another business owner that it is working for them, you stand a really good chance at getting the job. Also, a lot of times this is the best time of year to get jobs like this because bigger companies are looking for tax write offs.

This is exactly what I did and after a two hour meeting last week with a business owner, they signed a 1 year contract for 16K for a website and year long seo work. We have a plastic surgeon signing up next weekend (he hasn't signed the contract so I'm not counting it even though he has agreed to it verbally over the phone)

This week, we have meetings set up with an accountant, a real estate agent, a furniture company and a painting company. The week after this one we have a presentation at the local Chamber of Commerce which is nothing but business owners. All of this happened because it was a business owner telling other business owners about something that was working for them. No cold calling and no walking into businesses.

You can really get your friend who's the business owner to push it out even more if you are willing to give a commission for every lead he brings that you close. You can offer this to your other clients as well and you'll have your own sales force of business owners working for you. Doesn't take any actual work on their part except to answer a question they are already going to get asked. The commission just makes them remember a little better to mention what you did for them.

Most times business owners are going to want to see some kind of numbers before they sign up with anything anyway. This way, you kill two birds with one stone. You'll have some numbers to show from the business you just did it for AND you'll have the seed planted by an actual business owner to other business owners. This makes it much easier to close deals and get yourself 16K or higher contracts in as many two hour meetings as you can get.

Now go make yourself some money!!

Thats why I love the offline niche so much.

I think its easy to overlook the main objective we all have - providing value and services that other people actually use.

What you have outlined above is giving away a little more than I usually do... but who knows - maybe my way is the wrong way! Thanks for the post.

I'll agree that it is a decent amount to give away, but once the first one is done, it makes it easy. Plus, I absolutely hate trying to talk to people about anything service oriented by walking into their office or cold calling them. Some people can do it, do it well and have no problem with it, I'm just not one of them.

I figured if I can get a business owner to do the pre-sale for me, it would be a lot easier sale and a lot less footwork on my part. This way, the people I'm going to see already know what I'm there for and are looking forward to at least seeing what I've got. Get them some results too and the word spreads without me doing any of the stuff I just don't like doing.
