Do you think it is effective to dominate front page of google with sites thank link to you? Or is it better just to have your site rank number 1 on the top page of google? |

Ideally, your site ranks #1 and the rest of the sites on page 1 link to you.

It's hard to do where there are all pages on the front page linking to you Sometimes it does happen but Google quickly changes those results usually within 2-3 days. In fact that will make your site jump on the #1 position fast but those other links will drop. Here is a scenario for you that I have experienced. I managed to get 3 sites in one of my niches that ranked on the front page to link to my brand new site. I paid for those links because I didn't have a choice. It was a competitive niche and articles by itself wouldn't do the job. After 2 months my new site came up on the front page and higher than those that linked to me. They actually started to drop in rankings because of that. They noticed it and didn't let me have my links on their sites anymore, but it was too late ![]() I backed up myself with some press release to keep the position. Now one of the guys contacted me if he could buy a link from me ...LOL ...no way! |

I wouldn't feel so bad if it was my own social networking profiles ranking alongside my own sites on the front page of Google! (I have this happening for one term.) Also I tend to think (although this is just a theory) that users will choose from the top ten results, and if one of those results is (say) a Myspace page, the user will generally only follow it if they are a myspace user. A good page title can often get you more clicks than other pages above you in google for your search term, because most people don't think of how their page title is going to appear in search engines - and it's often easy to out-do them. |
