If I am not mistaken, Google was expected to have another change this month just like in May. Has anyone experienced in May Day issues like back in May or will these be more likely to be experienced later this month?

For my part, I have not seen much, although I have a couple of sites that have been going in and out of the serps but believe this to be more of the standard google dance as I have done some fairly recent link building.

How about you folks, are you seeing or hearing anything on your end?

here we go again. People fretting (or even thinking about) stuff that you should leave alone. hell, you should be worried that they are expecting all of the glaciers to be gone from Glacier National Park within 20 years, rather than when the next super minute update will be.

If an update occurs, an update occurs. The "mayday" update wasn't massive. 99% of what ranked well before it, continued to rank well after it.

Focus on your on-page and off-page SEO and stop worrying about (1) stuff that you can't change, (2) that hasn't happened yet, and (3) won't really make any difference at the end of the day.

Thanks for the lecture Dad, but the Mayday change did impact a significant number of marketers and it was expected this change would as well. If you weren't impacted good for you, but what works for you may not work for others. This was just a question about what others are seeing and have they seen any changes? These changes are also important because they can help people figure out what is working for link building and what is no longer working...this is why its important.

Also, the IM world has changed considerably in the last 15 years and will again in the next five. Heck, Google may not even be the top dog in 5 years, but for now, their changes do matter for those jockeying for position for the holiday season.

If you naively think that the IM world does not change quickly, you are fooling yourself. In fact,

The fact of the matter is that the majority of SEO's were not affected by Mayday and worrying about what is going to happen in the future is counter-productive.

There is no way possible to speculate about what the future holds for Google. The only speculating that I will do is this:
Whatever Google changes, we will find a way to conquer. So, go with what works now and if and when there is a change, then move to what works then.

Worrying about every little change in Google is just going to slow you down. Statistically Google makes an algorithm adjustment everyday.

I am willing to jump on my soapbox and make a prediction, even if you are not... LOL

Google will keep making changes to its algorithms... And it will continue to do so to further its own goals, regardless of whether those changes will be beneficial to you or me...

Google is always looking out for #1... Not #1 in its search results, but they are always looking out for what is in Google's best interests...

      Tom,

You really need to try this SEO method...

Tom Goodwin actually thought he was so special that he kept his rant going over on Terry Kyles backlinks forum.

heres the link: THIS is why many fail in SEO

        Just FYI.

If he took his tongue out of his own ear for a second, he would realize that it tastes bad.

..and if you took your tongue out of your own arse you would probably enjoy it and ask for more

          People need to realize that:

          (1) no one knows when the next Google algo update will be
          (2) even if you did, you wouldn't know what it entailed;
          (3) even if you knew what it entailed, it really wouldn't matter.

If you do on-page SEO and off-page SEO (i.e., backlinks) that will get you 99% there with Google no matter when the next algo update will be.

Not to mention, I have no idea why SEO/backlink threads are posted here in the Article marketing, er main forum.

I haven't seen anything negative in the SERP's of any of my sites lately to believe that Google is "fiddling" with anything like they did in May. I have, however, seen an increase in some of my ranks, which is nice. So either my SEO efforts are paying off, or Google might be making some tweaks. But if they are, I would say it's for the better. But I haven't heard or seen anything to believe they're doing anything. If they are, rest assured it will be for the better and benefit us who do SEO the right way.

I didn't know there was a may day update until I read about. Then again, I only focus on short tail terms, and apparently only long tail terms were affected. Like Tom says, nothing you can do about it anyways so why worry. I may not wake up tomorrow, so may as well enjoy today.

It is already obvious that Google is heading towards a future where quality matters more than quantity both in terms of on-page as well as off-page SEO. So you should build your websites accordingly
