Do Solo Ads Work?

I have seen some people giving an opportunity to advertise your product/offer/service to their list which consists of 10,000 - 50,000 people.

Have any one of you tries such service? I was thinking of promoting my WSO this way, I dont really know how they do it and is it a good idea to JV with them this way.

Would like to know more, please let me know what you guys think

    It's not really a JV. Some people call it that, but it's just an ad.

    The real key is making sure you match the list to your offer. You can't just go by the number of people on the list. I know lots of people go around saying "it's a numbers game," but it's not - it's a relationship game, and you want to put your ad on a list where the members are responsive... where the list owner's emails get opened, and read, and his members actually click through on offers.

    Solo ads work REALLY WELL for low- or no-cost offers to build your list. I've heard mixed results for actual product sales, though.
