Article Submittal Question - Blogs & Directories

Hello All ,

I am a little unclear on how & where to submit articles because of all the conflicting information out there.

I have a list of the top 100 article directories to submit to, Ezine being at the top. My question is...if I have a blog, do I post the same articles on my blog that I submit to the article directories? If so, is there a certain order that I should do this?

Can I submit the same article to different directories or submit different articles to each directory?

As for me, I normally submit my articles to Ezinearticles.com first, then wait for the articles to go LIVE before I post them on my blog.

Also, I used to submit exact same articles to other article directories though I don't know if they have changed their TOS (Terms Of Service).

Right now, I submit my articles to EZA (ezinearticles.com) only.

Each article directory will have rules as to what you can and can't submit (some only want original content that hasn't been published anywhere else), so before you try to publish anything, make sure you're complying with everyone's TOS.

That being said, I personally never put the same articles on my site that I publish on article directories for one simple reason - I don't want people to read my articles on directories, click on my link, and find the same exact article on my site. Seeing the same exact content doesn't encourage visitors to stay.

I may cover some of the same topics on my site as I do on article directories, but I always rewrite everything. I want all of my visitors to come onto my site and see something they've never seen before.

    Nicole,

I create a special page for all the articles on my blog. They never appear on my main page.

Same here. I just want to make sure that when people start surfing around my site, they see something brand new. Especially since I'm in the writing business, I want to make sure they see a ton of different stuff (although, giving visitors a ton of solid information is never a bad thing - no matter what business you're in )

Post the article to your blog first, ping and socially bookmark it.

Post to article directories the next day. Use the same article that's on your blog, but change the title with a different set of similar but relevant keywords so your article isn't competing with your own blog. Link to a different article in the bio box or your home page. That way readers won't find the same info.

    The answer is "yes".

And it's all explained in great detail in this fine thread.

It's a long thread, but enormously valuable.

It answers all your questions and more, I think, and it really is worth taking the time to read it slowly and attentively.

Again, the answer is "yes". Many professional article marketers, having done their own research and testing, do exactly that. And that's a fact that even the people who don't do that can't deny.

    Let me sum it up.

    1. Submit to your site and let it get indexed. (Almost all directories allow you to submit content you have published elsewhere.)

    2. Submit to other directories with a link back to your article. Why?

    Listen to Google:
"Syndicate carefully: If you syndicate your content on other sites, Google will always show the version we think is most appropriate for users in each given search, which may or may not be the version you'd prefer. However, it is helpful to ensure that each site on which your content is syndicated includes a link back to your original article" Duplicate content - Webmaster Tools Help

    3. Consider and alternative to Ezine Articles.

Why? Look at one of their articles. They are set up so that people click ads and not your site.

Promote My Articles Article Marketing Service will rank high with no ads. You can even embed forms. Toss some backlinks in and you can do well. Costs $10 a month but has great training on article marketing. Maybe Allen Graves will drop in.

http://www.Articleproductions.com is a bit pricey but will back link your articles. They are a complete solution.

    Just my two cents!

PS. I use the above but these are not affiliate links.

I'll concur with the post to blog first crowd. My own two cents; I post to my blog, then eza then other directories

I post to EZA, post a variation on the blog, wait for EZA to go live and then post slight variations on:

      Go Articles
      Squidoo
      ArticleDashboard
      ArticleCity

and a few others. Works for me!

I would personally recommend sites such as ezine, articlesbase, and article alley are some of the popular sites where you can post your article. As for me, I post it on my blog first and then rewrite it before posting on directories.
