About Squeeze Pages...

Hey guys,

I have a few questions regarding squeeze pages.

1) In IM, I have come across a lot of info about ppc, bum marketing, copywriting, etc... but have not found a reliable source specialising in squeeze pages (I am not talking about the guys trying to sell their squeeZe page generating softwares ). Could anyone guide me on this.

2) Another question is that, I am making a few squeeze pages for the very first time. I am not making a single one, but 3 totally different designs as I have absolutely no idea about the sort of squeeze pages that get higher conversions. So, my question is, is there any free method by which I could show the 3 different squeeze pages to 3 different viewers and be able to record and analyse the conversion rates.

Cheers,
Ryzon

I don't know of any "Gurus" to turn to, but I can tell you after 8 years of generating leads online through ppc to squeeze pages, the most important thing you can do is test, test, test. I know it sounds cliche, but there is no other way to do it. There's no magic formula...but there are some guidelines for better conversions.

I don't know of a free method that would send you traffic, but you definitely want to try and get a good sampling before you determine if a page is good. PPC is the fastest way to get traffic to a page. If you're on a tight budget, You'll have to just ask for people's opinions.

At the end of the day, opinions mean nothing and stats / conversions are all that matters.

    Hey Ryzon,

    Great questions!

I couldn't phrase that better than Nick did. It does finally come down to
lots of testing. There are guidelines and best practices that you could learn
from good sources like Tellman's ListBuildingClub; however, all of us have a
certain style of doing things, and our results can only be tracked over time.

As far as traffic is concern, choose one or two sources that you're
comfortable with and keep going till you master them for your list building
    efforts.

Free Traffic Sources: Articles Marketing, Forum Posting, Blog Commenting,
Video Networks, Social Media, JV's and Ad Swaps.

Paid Traffic Sources: PPC, Banner Networks, PPV.

"So, my question is, is there any free method by which I could show
the 3 different squeeze pages to 3 different viewers and be able to
record and analyse the conversion rates."

Yes I can think of 2 FREE ways to do this.

You're basically trying to "Split-Test" 3 different squeeze pages (SQP) to
figure out which converts better after getting a total of 300 visitors
    to the SQP's.

    1) Google's Website Optimizer

    2) AWeber: AWeber has some of the best analytics out there. Setup 3
different web-forms. One for each of your SQP's. You can install a
three-way rotator script on you INDEX page such that: each time your
page is refreshed, a new squeeze page shows up. Aweber's tracking
system takes care of the rest. (This is free if you already using AWeber)

Hope this helps. If you need the script or SQP samples, I'd be happy
    to give them to you.

    Cheers,
    Swarup

My best advice is to look at what others are doing. Eben Pagen's DoubleYourDating is probably the most famous squeeze page there is. I'd say that's a good starting point. Also, anything Ryan Deiss has put out recently. There is definitely as much of a science as there is art to designing a well converting squeeze page.

If it were me starting out at this all over again I would use one of Ryan Deiss' squeeze pages as a starting point and then start split testing from there. There are also some pretty good squeeze page templates floating around. I'd say some are worth paying the money for.

    Cheers,
    Matt

        • This is an extremely interesting topic.

First of all if you use "google insights" and compare "websites" with "landing pages" (squeeze pages) you will find that squeeze pages are not only more popular in the last couple years, as in they are exploding in popularity, but websites are dwindling. Now, I am not saying that websites will fizzle out. Websites will always have a valid role on the internet. But there has to be a reason, right? There is. Even fortune 500 companies use landing pages now day. But why? Well, it is a well known fact that landing pages convert higher than websites. Again...but why? Well, landing pages offer visitors their basic questions answered (the whos, whats, whens, wheres, whys, and hows) all in a clean-cut simple manner. Have you ever been to a website where you leave because it's too complicated or you cant find what you are looking for? I know I have. This is why they convert less than squeeze pages. Landing pages, again, offer what your visitors are looking for. They are simple and get the point across.

Now, I am not trying to sell you any squeeze page generators or software, but I have used many landing page platforms, and there is one that blows the competition out of the water hands down. Since I cannot post links yet, PM me for more info if you are interested.

Lastly, to help you with improving your conversion rate, you can either put your landing pages in front of people and get their opinion, or use heat mapping technology. Heat mapping is technology that shows you what your visitors are looking at when they first get to your site, blog, or whatever. Advertising agencies use this as an important tool in their marketing campaigns. This is extremely valuable information since you can use this information when designing the layout of your page. Yes, even the layout of your page is important when you are looking to convert visitors into customers. There is a free website out that heat maps your website, landing page, or whatever. Again, since I cannot put any links up, you will have to google it. Google the site "feng-gui". They offer a free heat mapping service. You can only heat map a page every 12-24 hours for their free service, so use it wisely.

Anyway message me if you have any questions. I hope this helps out. Kevin

do squeeze pages actually work? and whats the average profit if you dont mind me asking (dont be exact)
being a designer / developer every time i see them i instantly click to get away.
(maybe im being too elitist but just cant let them load)

i own the best squeeze related domains for '.co' but cant bring myself to develop them

    maybe im missing the point

I'll bet you don't instantly click away. How many different newsletters are you subscribed to online? Anything from Microsoft? What about Google? How about other developer publications?

There is a very high chance you went through a "squeeze page" to get on to those publications, but they were such informational pages, with something you WANTED, you never gave it a second thought.

The point is a squeeze page can increase your conversion dramatically. You are not getting just one chance to recommend one product, but multiple chances to recommend multiple products.

this may seem strange, but the only newsletters that im signed up to are 2 related to domaining. and yes i really do click away.

i used to work as a forensic data analyst so i know how to ask google politely and get anything i want.
so i have looked at numerous squeeze related stuff from the inside out (code and pages)

with my SEO i have an oldschool trick that works a treat.....done it on a damn wallpaper site with no text and bammm first page, done it again...same result....tried for a friend with a crappy holding page..... this is number 2 on google.com.
        (under 2 months)

so i dont visit forums to watch people achieve in 1 yr what i do in a month (white hat too)

with templates and stuff like that....i make them myself
I only found this forum from a domaining article that suggested this site.

I have 1500+ domains and am moving away just letting them increase in value to taking control over ALL revenue over parking and find you guys interesting in the ways you market things (no offense).

Yeah ive been under a rock............but i spit out 2-3 high quality sites everyweek and if your in australia and have done any insurance online.......or going through some crappy etag or eating commercial livestock..........chances are likely youve interacted with my code in some way.

im a curious person and am open to other ways to make money other than coding for 15hrs a day 7 days a week.

to test if things will work i got 'squeezepages, squeezethemes, squeezetemplates' all .co (dont get me started on the affiliate domains that i have (EXACT keyword match))

so my mind is open and I do try and help where i can

        end rant LOL's

I have seen people selling or giving away free squeeze pages, but I have never noticed anyone talking about them, except here in the WF...

The best advice is to set up the three as you described, and test, test, test...

Through testing and tracking results, you will know as much as what you might ever learn in a book...

There is really not a whole lot to get.

A squeeze page is a page with only one thing to do on it, and everything else on the page is designed to convince the visitor to do it.

A sales page is a type of squeeze page, for example. Everything on the page is designed to make the visitor click the "buy" button.

Of course, what most people mean is an opt-in page for your list. And it's the same thing: everything on the page is designed to make the visitor fill in and submit the form.

You could do the exact same thing with CPA offers. Everything on the page is designed to convince your visitor to fill in and submit the offer.

There's nobody specialising in this, because the field is infinite. You can do anything at all. You can use video, text, graphics, music, whatever. I've seen a CPA offer on a page that won't let you leave, playing a crappy song in the background, and the exit pop whenever you tried to leave said "Fill in the form to stop the music."

That's not very ethical, but you get the point. You can do anything to make your squeeze page work. Anything at all. Nobody specialises in squeeze pages, because they're actually specialising in something else: the psychology of persuasion.

So, my question is, is there any free method by which I could show the 3 different squeeze pages to 3 different viewers and be able to record and analyse the conversion rates.
Google Webmaster Tools has a split-testing system.

You can try Google Website Optimizer to do split testing between two, three or more pages.

If you're using Wordpress, you might find it easier to implement if you use the free WP Split Test Optimizer plugin.

Split testing isn't the end-all and be-all of analysis, but it's a good start, and this is free.

I am leaving no stone unturned in getting a top notch squeeze page design. I have worked incredibly hard for setting up my business and I think its only fair to take my time and not fall for some lousy squeeze page design. In brief, I want to know the ultimate software used by IM pros for their products.

If you know html... NOtepad can be as effective "tool" as any other when it comes about the end result.

BTW, you are wrong chasing the "golden" html editor. That won't help. It is talent, creativity (and good taste) that make a good design. Never the tool!!!

Exactly. You need to know how to code html and create a great design that's effective. An html editor won't just do that for you like Mr. Horvath said.

I would search around and examine some squeeze pages to get an idea.

Hi Guys, i realised some time ago that i needed a quick, idiot proof professional looking squeeze page generator.

So, Ive developed an effective Wordpress based Squeeze Page theme which is totally geared towards easily developing a quick professional squeeze page with email opt-in.

It has video embedded features and is totally SEO friendly.

Its not ready for public/commercial use yet, im just fixing a few tweaks and testing thoroughly.

My question is, I need help marketing this and if neccessary, giving this out free initially for reviews/testing/suggestions.

Can someone help me with this or point me in the right place on here to get help with this.

My plan is to sell this theme and to use the funds to develop it further.

The theme is not availble to see as yet but will be in the next day or so.

  • Hello Ryzon. No problem with the help. Thanks for the Pm. Unfortunately it looks like I cannot PM yet since I do not have enough posts. So here is the answer to your question. Thanks again.

Squeeze page, landing page, it's the same thing. The landing page platform I recommend is Unbounce found at unbounce.com. This platform is on the internet and the interface is extremely simple yet it lets you do A LOT. On top of this, Unbounce tracks your sites and gives you up to date and extremely precise and useful information. It even let's you test out different versions of your landing pages like you were looking for. I teach people online and we cover a wide array of subjects on how to help them build track and promote their business online. The thing is, most of my students are totally new to internet marketing and the internet in general, yet they want to take the step of putting their business online. All this to say, I am here to help them with anything and need tools that are simple to understand. Unbounce does just that. I am more than happy to help you out if there are any other questions you may have or anything else you need help with in regards to internet marketing. Good luck, Kevin

As far as I can tell, creating squeezed pages are effective on the mobile marketing side.

We have been creating many squeezed pages for various mobile marketing campaigns since 6 months ago. During the time, we believe 80% of the time was testing and testing.

Traffic comes in while the pages are straight forward enough of what you are offering otherwise no traffic will come.

We use coffee cup html editor and the ftp program. its got the visual editor also on it, but your still gonna need to head over to w3schools to learn a little html code,,, not a biggie. its pretty simple once you get the hang of it. sometimes the visual editor has your image looking crazy like it did my opt in form but when you look at it through the preview,,, its fine. and when i ftp'ed it, works site showed right cause i went into the code editor for images only. otherwise its visual editor is great with a small formatting problem. i use txt formatter plus for my content usually and just copy and paste but by hitting the "P" button on the toolbar u can take the formatting out and start your content or image aligned left or center. hope this helps they have been reliable with us so far.

There are some pretty good squeeze page templates out there. If you are looking for a designer / warrior to create squeeze page templates. You can look to the Warrior's-For-Hire section.

It's important to work with a designer that understands the online marketing niche and can help you test your squeeze pages using split-testing and multi-variant testing. That process can test the design/layout, colors, content, etc. of the squeeze page.

I agree that the most important thing to do is to test. So whether you create the squeeze pages yourself or use existing templates, or hire a squeeze page designer. The success of your squeeze page will depend on your ability to identify and analyze the data, visitors, conversions, etc.

For split-testing your squeeze pages, I'd recommend Google Optimizer for starters. There is other software out there that can help you manage your squeeze pages as well.

    I hope this helps!
