I am starting my first clickbank campaign but I got a question. In the email from the person selling the product it says to replace my id in the middle of a specific link. But when I say to promote it on clickbank it gives me a couple of different links and one is a hoplink. Which one of these 3 do I use as they are all different!

Each different hoplink generated by ClickBank will be redirected to different landing pages. It depends on where you want your visitors to be redirected, and which landing page has the highest conversion rate.

For best result, I'd suggest split testing the hoplinks to see which generates the most sales. You may also use the affiliate URL (usually yourname.productname.hop.clickbank.net) that's generated by the product merchant.

Don't worry, just use the link that clickbank gave you. The second link Clickbank gives you is an anchor text link with the <a href> tag. It can be useful when you want to put your affiliate link in a keyword such as "Click here" see? But your "real" link is the first one.

I believe what the merchant says is if you don't want to go throught the "promote" button on the clickbank marketplace to create your affiliate link. And indeed you can just put your clickbank id directly on the link the merchant gives you.

Copying the first link clickbank gives you is the safest thing. Test it to make sure it's not broken and you're good to go!

    Hope that helps,

    Louise

The one the product vendor gave you is one of the "old school" type links. It probably looks like...

    http://AFFILIATE.VENDOR.hop.clickbank.net

You insert your CB id where it says AFFILIATE and the product vendor's id where it says VENDOR.

That kind of hoplink will work, but CB offers newer forms now. If you click on the PROMOTE button next to a product listing you will get an encrypted form which hides your affiliate id within it.

The hoplink shown on top of the form returned will look like...
    Sell Products - ClickBank

The second hoplink shown looks like...
    <a href="http://dkci83hdu477cbdhee.hop.clickbank.net/" target="_top">Click Here!</a>

The second form is in HTML format. If you are working in HTML code you can insert this anywhere and your link to the product vendor's page will show. The link will say "Click Here" although you can substitute any phrase you want where it says Click Here.

When you insert your hoplinks into your page always click on them once you upload your page to your hosting account. Make sure they take you to the vendor's page. Then click on the order form and make sure your affiliate ID shows at the bottom of the CB processing page.
