Crying over Spilled milk

i recently read a post about a guy who lost a few subscribers who said he was "annoying", and was very down about it. This post and its replies really hit me in a spot. One of the replies really caught my eye of Paul Wolfe,(hyperactive warrior). I totally agree with him. I remember before i got into internet marketing, i was a pest control salesman....thats right...a termite man. i had cold call leads where i had to drive up to 60 miles, crawl under a crawspace with snakes, spiders, etc., and go in and convince these leads to buy from me only after knowing me an hour later. and not a product that they could flash off to the smith's later. and i was on straight commission. which meant no sales, no money. after years of this i realized about 20% of my leads where people i had been to in the past and never bought. now dont get me wrong, i pitched leads 2 or 3 times before they bought, but there is a curious lead...and theres an interested lead. curious leads just want their homes checked every year for free and was a waste of my time with people takingadvantage of our "free termite and moisture inspection." My point is focus on the leads that are good and are"interested" not just some bum wanting a ride to peace of mind or someone just wanting something for free. if they left that easy and unsubscribed, then chances are they wouldnt have contributed to your cause anyway. Focus on the hot leads of customers who stay at your side and follow you. i would rather have "X" amount of a good, solid list, rather than a million signing up to get my freebie only to not buy ever or just unsubscribe the following day. My statement to the gentleman worried would be that. just my theory,....please give more input to the thread warriors!

much appreciated,
Brian and Shannon

I don't let people unsubscribing bother me one little bit. They most likely where not going to buy and only wanted my initial offer anyway.

I have got some fairly nasty reasons for leaving, but it's okay because I am building a business and that is my focus not that someone might be annoyed by an email.

There are some (too many) people that aren't "happy" unless they are complaining, even if there is nothing to complain about. You gotta let that roll off your back, and focus on the good stuff.
