If you have to ask, you are posting TOO MUCH.

      Slow down!!!

Facebook and other Social Media sites are for RELATIONSHIP BUILDING and NETWORKING...not for "getting your link" all over the place.

Most people will just delete your links as fast as you can post them anyway....I don't leave crap on my page and I know most marketers don't either.

Make friends, network and add value...you will be much farther ahead and you will find success online much faster.

When you network with the people most likely to buy what you are selling, then your facebook posts maybe acceptable in moderation...

But as the OP said, if you have to ask if you are doing it too much, then your more than likely are doing it too much...

I know you have heard people are making money from facebook, but they are not making money by posting to their walls... Nope... That are making money from facebook by using the FaceBook PPC program that permits you to accurately target your ads to your defined demographic...

Forget how many times per hour... if you posted it once
on my page you'd likely find yourself getting banned.

Forget the police - one-man or otherwise - and banning an account.

If I'm in the business of selling advertising, and some mook is trying to avoid buying my ads by harassing my users, I'm sending Moose and Rocco down to help him see the error of his ways...

Every time I've had a "friend" try to sell me something on Facebook, I've deleted them.

I'm the same way. About a year ago I got a message from a friend (guy I knew somehow) trying to "be the #1 most liked group", and I thougt it was really lame to hit your friends up like that... but I thought it was a one off.

Since then I've seen at LEAST a dozen more of these, and I've perfected the delete DURING a massive eye roll.

Posting ads on people's walls is spammy...
And also posting on your profile trying to sell won't get anywhere.
Posting info that can help your friends will make VERY popular...
    AND attractive.
