This still work for ad words?

I haven't tried this in a while as i think adwords kind of clamped down on it, but can you still send targeted traffic from adwords to a squeeze page instead of website or mini review site e.t.c?

Just curious, as i wanted to start an interesting adwords campaign and document the results.

Honestly.. right now you are wayyyyy better off getting into facebook PPC... A lot cheaper, more targeted, best CTR, etc. and from the campaigns I've been running, you can even send people straight to your click bank affiliate link if you want!

I tried using Adwords but there are too many changes to the policies and it's difficult to comply - no hyping or unrealistically claims on the landing page. Submit a few of them but not one has been approved.

Is facebook PPC more user friendly? Have only tried once but poor result. Maybe can tried again especially if I can send visitors with my affiliate link straight to the vendor without creating my own landing page.

      You smoke crack.

The CTR rates on FB can't hold a candle to Adwords. I've run side-by-side campaigns, with nearly identical ads and FB just plain stinks. You'll get a ton of impressions, that's true, but the CTR will pale in comparison. FB execs have been interviewed about this and admit thata 0.03% CTR is not uncommon across their network

I may be on crack HAHA!!! But with my campaigns I'm getting .112% CTR.. I'm averaging .54 cents per click.. by far these are the cheapest leads EVER.. And any marketer who's still using google PPC for network marketing is going to be left in the dust in my opinion! HAHHA

You are getting 0.1%... and you are happy?!

I hope you are kidding. Seriously, my display network ads do better than that, and cost way less, too...

P.S. I was able to get CPCs of under 0.5 for some B2B keywords - so no, not the cheapest ads ever either.

Here's a link to a video from Armand Morin that explains the changes google has made and what you need to do to comply if you're using adwords:

A good CTR on FB is 1/10 of a good CTR on Adwords...

WHA???? OK, no one listen to the yuk-yuk any more.

Do you know why a CTR is expressed as a percentage? So that you can compare the rates across multiple streams. Given identical ads, the CTR should be the same across both, especially on sites like FB and Google which would attract a large cross-section of people.

Facebook CTRs are abyssmal - I've seen targeted ads get as little as 0.02%.

Sure, it's cheaper - I pay around USD 3 per click on Google - but what the point if I get a maximum of one visitor a day?

      This.

That was exactly my experience. You'll get a TON of people to look at your ad but virtually no one clicks on them on FB. So what's the point? The high impressions will serve as a "feel good" for you, but at the end of the day it results in little to no sales.

Facebook gives you fantastic impressions.. and the ability to pay a set price for clicks. They will estimate the number of clicks too. The problem is that I have had very bad quality of people clicking through. Adwords is way better with quality. I don't know why - but maybe when people are on Facebook they are in a different mindset as opposed to when they are on a content network site or searching. Maybe they are on Facebook just to catch up and hence in a different type of mindset. All in all - FB ads were very poor. Adwords was super and so much more powerful.

Just make your squeeze page have good content on it and you should be OK. Don't have a few lines with a sign up form. Put some content in even if there are no links (although you should put a simple About Us, Contact Us, Privacy Policy links). Also, you will take a big hit as far as your Quality Score goes if you do a small squeeze page with not much content and you will be paying much higher that what your competitors will be paying for the clicks. So, keep that aspect in mind. Please explain what exactly you are trying to achieve with your experiment and maybe I can help you further?

There's probably something to this. I think FB ads are so much easier to ignore whereas Google places your ad across many pages and the advert network so that your ad is seen in various "forms" and page locations. With FB, you can basically train your mind to ignore the right-side of the screen and you won't pay much attention to the ads.

D_M_S... I was agreeing with you. So maybe you should stop the YUK YUK or whatever you call it. I know what I am talking about with PPC as I bet you a beer I spend more in a month than you do in a year. Do not question my knowledge or imply that I am spouting BS without first looking at what I said and my experience. I sell between 4 and 5 thousand units a month of my own information products - all through paid advertising. So I might have a leg to stand on.

Also, quite frankly just because you can't make money on FB doesnt mean that its not a viable source. I personally find that it doesnt work for a lot of my products, but it does work for some.
