Why do you use Aweber?

Ok so i learned the importance of building a list for a company.

I often here everyone say USE AWEBER!

Why is this?

Can you give me a list of why aweber is a better choice then something like mail chimp?

I am not an affiliate marketer (i know mailchimp doesnt allow them)

I do not use Aweber anymore I use GWA autoresponder, it is brilliant because I have full access to integrate it and change the coding as I wish, it is also a one time fee, which is brilliant.

GetResponse did a big upgrade last year. A lot of people were very dissatisfied with the results of that upgrade, myself among them. There used to be some great features on GetResponse that nobody else had. Then they did the upgrade, and now they look just like AWeber. So... why not have AWeber, instead of just someone who wants to be AWeber?

Meanwhile, there's Imnica Mail. They're awesome. I love them. But they're just not supported by enough stuff... there are fifty thousand products out there that integrate with GetResponse and AWeber, but not with Imnica. That will change, over time, I expect - but I needed integration now.

Can you give me a list of why aweber is a better choice then something like mail chimp?
MailChimp forbids affiliate marketing to your list, and will delete your account for it without warning... taking your list with them.

I have used and tested many third-party autoresponder
services including AWeber, Infusionsoft, iContact and
      1ShoppingCart.

The best provider depends upon the application.

However, here are the reasons I'd give for choosing
AWeber above and beyond the rest in many cases:

      - 10+ Year Track Record

AWeber have been providing autoresponder services for
over 10 years now so you know they're a reliable company
      that won't be gone tomorrow

      - Focused on Autoresponders

AWeber only focus on providing autoresponders and they're
pretty damned good at it. Other providers such as Infusionsoft
and 1ShoppingCart provide the shopping cart, affiliate management
under one roof - and sometimes their solutions suck

      - Reasonable Pricing

AWeber aren't the cheapest provider out there but they're not
extortionate. You can start off with a $1 trial and it's only $19/
month for up to 500 subscribers. Your business should be able
to comfortably meet the increased running costs as your lists
grow - along with your profits.

      - Integration with Other Software

Because AWeber is so widely used within the Internet Marketing
community, it's one of the first autoresponder systems to be
integrated with software applications - especially new ones.

      - Great Support

The customer support of AWeber is usually first class and you
can use phone, e-mail, tickets, or live chat.

      - High Deliverability

Because AWeber are so strict on what they'll let their users do
on their system, their servers have a good reputation with ISPs
and they have great deliverability - on the whole.

      - Advanced Technology

For their price bracket, AWeber tend to be the first to release
new technology and introduce innovations. For example, AWeber
were at the forefront of introducing more advanced tracking
for basic autoresponders, and then others tried to follow and
      failed miserably *cough*.

(Infusionsoft have some of the best technology for autoresponders
but their prices start at $199/month).

Aweber, hands down, because when you finally decide you want a real email autoresponder solution, you're going to lose more than half your list trying to switch over from a shoddy free solution.

I think aweber has won out among this crowd for a couple reasons:

    1. Cheap enough for the small guy to get on board. I mean, it's $1 to start and like $20 a month (which you should be able to make back from your list).

    2. Deliverability. They're a professional grade autoresponder. They have relationships with ISPs and get your emails through as often as possible. Deliverability is key... if your emails are going to the SPAM box... they're no good because no one is seeing them.

There are definitely better solutions out there (like infusionsoft) but they're REALLY pricey and most of the people on this forum aren't willing to shell out that kind of coin if they're not already making decent cash.

I was looking to move my lists, and I did a lot of searching and finally found a service that I feel is better for me than Aweber, so now I've moved everything over to ImnicaMail... so long, Aweber.

I love everything about ImnicaMail, the interface is nice, list segmentation capabilities are great, customer service has been fantastic, and to top it off the owner is a Warrior. If possible, I like to patronize Warrior-owned businesses.

Plus, there's a WSO running here for ImnicaMail making it almost a no-brainer:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...day-trial.html

Through the WSO you get up to 5,000 list members for $6.30 per month, and 60 days FREE (yeah, no kidding, $6.30 a month for up to 5,000 names on your list).

FYI, I have no financial interest in ImnicaMail, but when I really like something a Warrior has to offer, I'm going to talk about it -- especially when I finally decide on it after comparing it to lots of others first.

    It's called CONFIRMATION BIAS.

You'll notice that many of the people who think Aweber is best use Aweber. It's best because they're using it

And it's also because, back in ye olde days of t'Internet, there was really only Aweber or Getresponse.

The big boys and girls talked about these two all the times, so I think it's now become a "meme".

However, this is also how we eventually end up with quasi-monopolies like Google, Ebay and Paypal... so I like to encourage people to broaden their horizons and look at alternatives...

...like ImnicaMail, with whom I have no affiliation, but the creator is a fellow Warrior and it seems pretty nicely priced, with many of the same features.

As for deliverability, I have no idea which is better... I haven't done a comparison test, and I suspect neither have any of the people who talk about deliverability.

Oh, and don't forget... Aweber pay big commissions, but I'm sure that doesn't in any way influence people to recommend them

+1 Shaun OReilly - Agree with everything!

My only complaint is that they count unsubscribes towards your stored total which can = wasted money if you're not keeping up with your list maintenance.

You can delete your unsubscribes to minimize your
      running costs with AWeber.

For some situations, I use AWeber and for other situations
      I don't.

What specific reasons do you have for saying that AWeber
sucks? You'd give your comment some more credibility by
giving some specific reasons why you don't particularly
      recommend AWeber.

Mailchimp and aweber are relative equals in features. However mailchimp gives more social tools and doesn't have all that "click here to confirm your previous click to opt-in on your previous opt-in click." BS
          Very rational then

Price is only one factor to consider when choosing a
third party autoresponder service and it isn't at the
          top of my list.

Being cheap in business can be very expensive but
maybe you've not learned that yet.

Again, the best autoresponder to use depends upon the
          specific needs of the situation.

          There's no one-size-fits-all.

If I want to import a list without re-confirmation, I'll
          use iContact.

If I want advanced segmentation, I'll use Infusionsoft
          from $199/month.

If I want a decent autoresponder at a budget level,
          I'll use AWeber from $19/month.

MailChimp are doing some neat things on the Social Media
side of things but that's not reason enough to move over
          to them (for me anyways).

Real business people know that cheaper isn't always
                  better.

In business, it's ROI (Return-on-Investment) that
                  matters much, much more.

Actually, I can recommend MailChimp in a number of instances, particularly for offliners, and if you contact MailChimp support directly, you'll find that they aren't has hard-line against affiliate links in your e-mails as some may believe. I'm certain their policy exists to keep out the list-blasters who want to open up 30 different free accounts so they can hammer 30,000 people with their affiliate links.

I've always found that actually talking with your business partners will help establish a relationship that can work quite well even beyond the black-and-white of written policy.

Also, just a tip: exporting your list frequently will prevent list loss regardless of the reason.

Actually, when I started my account there, I emailed them to ask about their policy on affiliate links - before even getting my first subscriber - and they told me no affiliate links were allowed ever, then deleted my account.

Other IMers have had similar experiences. The inconsistency where some people have gotten a much friendlier response doesn't make me feel any more secure about them, because it essentially means the organisation doesn't have a clear policy and you may be held to different standards depending on who's working at any given point in time.

Number one reason I use Aweber is that your mails don't land up in the spam box of receivers. They have tie ups with ISPs and Web mail providers like gmail, yahoo mail, hotmail etc.

Other reason is the ease of doing things and the segmentation ability.

If you have a list and if you are doing things right - its worth the price...even though the price increases as your list(s) size grows.

Tracking and reports are also fantastic and I have never had any problem or experienced any down time with them.

Aweber gets an A++ all the way....
