November launch or wait til Jan?

Anyone got experience with launches this time of year?

I've been working towards launching a one off video course aimed at small biz/experts (it's in the video marketing niche.) So not a continuity programme.

I could get it done and launched by Nov 5th but thinking of adding more content and making it even better and delaying launch until Jan.

Main reason is really timing.

Do you think that in Nov people have their eyes on all the money they need to find for christmas plus they have less time to think as they crank up the work to get it done before the holiday - so less likely to spend on learning. Also affiliates less likely to promote.

Whereas in Jan people start off with a little more time and reflect on what they want to achieve in business for the year ahead and more willing to invest in some learning to implement?

Any thoughts?

The most common answer that you'll get is test. Some products will do well year-round while others will explode if you hit the timing just right. You need to test YOUR market to see when the best time to launch is.

I'm going to say that your overall launch strategy is more important than time of year. Getting your product in front of your prospects is the key. If the January launch allows you to produce a better product and gives you more time to plan your launch and get launch partners then work hard and launch in January. If you feel that you can deliver a good product in November with good launch support then do that.

At the end of the day, you'll get your product launched and you might even make some money.

      Hi Jules,

If the product is ready, then why not launch in November. You could always do more marketing in January to get more sales.

If you think you have some good info. to add to your product then release it as version 2.0 later on.

I would not delay launching a product unless there is a really good reason. I would prefer to quickly see how the product will sell and improve it or move on to my next product.

If you're ready to launch in November, then there is really no reason to wait. Waiting until January could run you the risk of losing potential sales.

If your product is not complete and additional streams will make it complete, wait!

Otherwise get it going and add content as you feel, I have released a large amount of products this time of year and done very well.

Launch it asap at least when its fully complete, why wait, whats going to change in january, think about it you can update the people who have already purchased it, WOW ,will they love you, and do a relaunch in jan, to new customers, there is such a thing as a rolling launch you need some software to do it. but dont wait, get it out there, the very best of luck with whatever you decide, and be sure to keep us posted, success stories are what its all about

Honestly, a launch in November of last year made me just as much money as a launch in February of this year.

And that first launch was the day before Thanksgiving. That's just about the worst possible time to launch a product.
