Don't know if this is covered on here but if it hasn't, here it is.

The Secret Youtube HQ Code.

Put this code at the end of your Youtube URL: &fmt=18

    That's because there is no difference in the two videos embedded in this thread above. The second one is not HQ.

    Youtube does not allow you to just add &fmt=18 to the end and have it display on external sites.


    The only time that particular trick works is watching the video on Youtube. If its on an external site you are linking from youtube displays the lower quality one.

    Additionally this is no longer a "secret" under most videos on youtube is a link that says "watch in high quality" which allows any YT user to watch newer videos in HQ.

    However adding &fmt=18 to the end of a youtube url and watching on youtube does work as well.

    Now if you want some real Youtube secrets....
