Link wheel building?? does it still work?

Heya,

I've been plugging away today at making a link wheel network and came accross this article The Death of the link wheel!

Does this method still work to help SERPs?

If so any advice on creating them and the best platforms to use?

thanks in advance

Why wouldn't a link wheel work?
A link wheel is many websites linked to one another, and all of them pointing to your main site.
Link wheels take a lot of time and effort to make.

    So, YES - they work!
And don't believe everything that you read on the Warrior Forum if they are trying to persuade you into buying some sort of product.

You may be confusing the business model that involves the "wheel and spoke" method with Google's link wheel tool.

I'm mentioning this just so this thread doesn't end up "talking apples and oranges."

Okay I've been in IM since 1999 and I don't know what a "link wheel" is. What is it? Are you talking about webrings?

(I guess I could read the article, huh? LOL)

I swear people will make articles like "the death of whatever" just so people will stop doing it eventhough it continues to work.

The person who wrote that article needs a MAJOR IM wake call. Did you read their resource box? Here ya go...

Ok, so they write an article about how building a Link wheel sucks worse than cow poop and then they try and sell readers on the new shiny method that has replaced these useless abominable Link Wheels.

Here's the kicker, this person is pawning themselves off as a link expert but then guess what happens....

      Wait for it...

      Wait for it...

The zippin links in their resource box don't work!!!!!!!!

Yeah, that proves how much they know about backlinks.

@ dirtyroger, you need to know that IM is filled with people who don't know squat about IM. But that lack of knowledge doesn't stop them from pawning themselves off as IM experts.

There has been numerous ebooks and courses on how to become an IM expert overnight. The key premise of these type of teachings is always, "Fake it until you make."

They teach people to make themselves appear to be affiliate marketing experts, IM experts, SEO experts, backlink experts and CPA experts even though they are actually clueless about the technology, software and tools they are writing and talking about.

Unfortunately, we have these same people come on the Warrior Forum posting false information, incorrect information and outright deception, all in the name of faking it until they make it.

As you keep reading and learning, you will spot them. Just like this poster on EZA, they will start threads claiming such and such is dead or such and such is how you get traffic or sales, but when they come under scrutiny of IMers who actually know IM, their statements, assertions and boasts quickly crumble.

Link Wheels are not dead and they never will be dead because the Internet is one gigantic board of websites linked together.

The moment a website is not connected/linked to others, it will be extremely hard to find. That is called link building basics.

Furthermore, Google is one of the largest recipients of the benefits of link wheels.

I've heard that Google is catching on to the linkwheel strategy. I've used it before and didn't see great results, but I never used it for that long so maybe my opinion is useless :p

I've been using link wheels for years and have had a ton of success with it.
